Good banana, wheat aroma. Murky orange body with a white, whispy head. Good lacing. My rating of the appearance was a little hampered by the semi-transparent plastic cup is was served in at a Madison Mallards game. Surprisingly good for an American brewpub wheat. Banana notes come through in the taste. As good a German wheat as I have had. Perhaps not as true to the style as some of the finer weissbiers brewed in Germany, but at least as enjoyable to drink as any of them. jewedekind (450), Middleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 1, 2004 This is the best hefeweizen I have had in the U.S. The color is a rich yellow-orange with a huge head that lingers wit excellent lacework. The beer is crisp, with clove spiciness and a slight banana nose. Lacks a bit of body (even as a wheat) but this beer is wonderful on the back beer garden in July. rcweir (121), Massachusetts, USA

Cloudy yellow with thin white head,, strong yeasty/banana aroma, smooth, acidic, long after taste of banana. A good example of style. schm1005 (150), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

I think I was a few too many beers into the Madison night to think of anything else. Solid, let’s leave it at that. jdog76 (85), madison, Wisconsin, USA

The flavor wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it went down easy, which scores it points in my book. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2008 Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy light golden brew with a thin white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of light golden grain malt, some yeast, banana esters, cloves and a touch of lemon zest. Taste is light to medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt with wheat, some banana esters, a touch of cloves with lemon and citrus zest. Finish has a good balance of sweet and dry aftertaste flavors that slowly disappears to a crisp finish.
