(Draught) Pours a clear amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Aroma of earth, nuts, and caramel. Flavor of grass, biscuit, light pine, and earth with mild bitterness in the finish.

Pours a copper color falling somewhat short of amber, with a dense, creamy white head that leaves a generous lace. Aroma is faint, and what’s there is off-putting, sharp and oxidized. Flavor is better, dominated by a heavy hops bill, floral, lemon, bits of grapefruit. Only light malts, pronounced vegetable finish. Medium bodied.

Sampled on draught at the downtown Madison, Wisconsin brewpub. Pours clear dark mahogany colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some floral and citrus zest hops, a touch of green vegetables and a hint of toffee. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors or caramel malt, some floral hops and a touch of vegetable. Finish is smooth with a mild caramel and floral hop aftertaste.

Poured from the growler a very red-brown in color with a small thin white head. Aroma is a very earthy hoppiness with a bit of a sweet caramel malt scent. The hoppy earthy flavor hits the tongue first and is followed by a sweet caramel malt flavor. Slight bread taste to it as well. Overall an okay beer.

Pours an attractive deep reddish brown coloured body with a small white head. A nice, prevalent moderately hopped mouthfeel. It has aromas of oak, earth and licorice. Flavors of caramel, ripe apples and cinnamon.

pours red with a thick white hear. Mild hop and malt aroma. Flavor is hoppy, everything beyond that tastes similar to a celery stick dunked in a margarita, not in a bad way. Finished creamy and smooth. This was very interesting.

Had this one on draught as part of a four-sampler at the brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Clear, dark copper pour with a thick, foamy off-white head, a light malty nose, mild and balanced, smooth but not much going on with this one.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a transparent amber bronze with a dense, creamy nitro head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasted malt and earthy hops is pretty subtle. Body starts fairly full with a nice light caramel sweetness balanced with some mildly earthy piny hops before a smooth, bittersweet finish. A pretty decent red lager.
