Commercial Description:
Based on our most award-winning beer, Denver Pale Ale, this copper-hued treat is a celebration of everything Great Divide does best. Plenty of malty sweetness provides a backdrop for earthy, floral English and American hops, while French and American oak round off the edges and provide a touch of vanilla. Thanks to everyone who’s supported us for the last 15 years - here’s to 15 more!

Poured from a bottle gave a copper amber hue with an off white head. Malty semi sweet nose. Medium body. Flavors of oak, caramel malt, solid bitter hops. Can taste a bit of alcohol heat. Finish is balanced malt and hops. Tasty for sure!

I liked this one a lot... pours a dark copper, but more torwards ruby... 2 finger head, course bubbles that recedes slowly, lacing is sticky and leaves a long trace in the glass... smells of oak, some muted forest pine, and subdued earthiness... mouth feel is really creamy and alcohol is muted very nicely... flavors are crisp wet pine, oak and some herbal mustiness... they go together very well... nice one and deserves to be tried by everyone... I’ll grab another.

Bottle. I was expecting good things from this beer as I did like the oaked unearthly from ST, and I do like great divides beers alot, so why not a double ipa with some oak in it, right? Wrong. For me this beer was an absolute mess. Overly strong on the oak flavors, leaving nothing but an almost overly sweet syrup with alcohol in it. I could not pick up anything in the smell except oak and vanilla. And it tasted like a glass of bourbon, even though this was not bourbon barreled. I can see how some people would dig this, but I was not one of them. Bleh.

Pours A nice reddish caramel color with a large off white head with large bubbles and sticky lacing. Aroma is oak, caramel, vanilla, hops, spices, pine. Flavor is pine, caramel, oak, hops, lemon, malt, nuts and a little earthiness. Well integrated flavors meld well with the oak and a nice bittering from the hops and the spices in the finish.

12oz pour at Pizza Paradiso in Dupont Circle, Washington D.C. Pours a transparent amber, orange with a lacing white head. Aroma was very pleasant, citrus hops, pine, flowers, vanilla, mild oak, and some caramel sweetness. Flavor was very nice as well, oranges, lemons, biscuits, cookie dough, caramel, vanilla, oak, wood, slightly nutty. Finish is smooth, silky, slightly bitter, slightly boozy. This is one of the better oaked IIPAs I’ve had, the oak and the hops compliment each other really well.

Bomber. Pours a clear dark amber color with thinning off white head. Aroma consists of dry woodiness with light fruity hops and vanilla. A quick shot of sweetness is followed by dry very alcoholic lasting finish. A little too oily, not all that well balanced.
