hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 26, 2009 Bottle… October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown!… This beer rocks!… Murky amber ale with a small, fragile, off-white head. The aroma offers a wealth of caramel, vanilla, bourbon and pouch tobacco. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Vanilla, bourbon, toffee and caramel are the standout flavors. Mild acidity. Warm, but not hot - the bourbon component is not overbearing. Lengthy, caramely, warming finish. World class bottle of beer courtesy of JW77! mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Oct 22, 2009 Pours a brownish dark maroon color, with a medium light beige head. Smells of rich bourbon, vanilla cream, caramel, dark fruits, and yeast. Really dug that nose. Awesome. The flavor was of Rich caramel cream and bourbon, with dark fruits, and malts balancing it out, so it wasnt overly hot or a bourbon bomb. Went down smooth as silk, and was extremely flavorful. Great barrel aging on this brew, as it seemed made just right for it. Bravo. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 19, 2009 Bottle courtesy Ditmeir. Pours a dark browish toffee color with a thick tan head. Wonderful big aroma of bourbon, barrel, vanilla and spicy hops. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate and spicy hops. Whisky aroma. Mid brown coloured smooth on the palate and very strong in alcohol with a bitter and slightly dry warming finish. tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Aug 20, 2009 What a great beer. The pour is a clear dark brown with a bit of a tan head. The nose is wonderful chewy malts and big hops with a nice compliment from the bourbon barrel. All of the great Ruffian flavors are there and the booze and oak are just along for the ride. Full and rich with a dry alcoholic finish. I love this.
