The nose is wonderful chewy malts and big hops with a nice compliment from the bourbon barrel. All of the great Ruffian flavors are there and the booze and oak are just along for the ride. Full and rich with a dry alcoholic finish. I love this. drewbeerme (2309), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Thick, viscous brew both in appearance and mouth feel. Hearty aroma of dark, fermented fruits, bran cereal, and bitter-sweet baked goods. The scent permeates the air around the glass and invites you in for a great experience. Smooth whiskey effect ties the malty flavors with the floral hints. Nutty with plenty of roasted malts and green faded hops. Complex and well aged, it awakens all of the senses.
