| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Bottle. Golden blond beer with good white head. Hop and spice blend nicely in the aroma. The flavor is slightly bitter, slightly citrus, slightly hoppy, and altogether funky. I liked this a lot. Very unexected, pleasant suprise. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Bottle. Pale blonde-straw colour. Thick white head. The nose is loaded with heavy clovey spice over a bright zesty orangey hoppiness. A bit of cinnamon and a fairly earthy/spicy bitterness. Lingering lemony citrus and a bit of light spice. Lots of bright noble spice. It has a kiss of light sweetness. The bitterness is pretty solid. I like this. Dmalone102 (218), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 18, 2009 Aroma- yeasty, cinnamon-like phenols. Bready aroma. Low noble-hop aroma.
Appearance- Very clear gold, no crystal malt, nice white head.
Taste- Phenols are high, moderate sweetness. Bready taste, high malt flavor. There is some funk from the yeast that adds character. High bitterness, medium noble flavor.
Palate- highly carbonated, dry, easy to drink.
Overall- I still haven’t had a "belgian IPA" that I liked a lot, but I did like this better than "le freak". keepersj12 (798), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 17, 2009 Nice spicy aroma. Looks good with a yellow body and fluffy white head. Flavor is typical with a hop bite at the end. Interesting. talon1117 (622), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Pours a clear, golden color with an average, white, fluffy head which settles to a nice small foam and does leave Belgian lace all over the place. The nose...... all I get is creamed corn... faint herbal, faint spicy, faint esters. Flavor is marginally better; creamed corn remains dominant with a moderate, spicy bitterness, and light bit of citrus hops, grass, and fruity yeast esters. Palate is spicy, very lively, drying, light to medium. Finishes with a nice, spicy bitterness, some light esters, and some linger... CORN. Maybe my least favorite beer from a non-macro brewery and from one of my favorite CO breweries. Maybe this bottle is bad but I have seen corn as a note in other ratings... If this really originated as Titan IPA (which I doubt), they must have done something terribly wrong. BeerGestapo (740), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Brewed in the USA...... 4th of July bash. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Aroma of spices, yeast and some malts. Taste is kind of the same with the addition of herbs and cloves. The mouthfeel is medium in body, kind of chewy with a yeast like finish. Overall, average, I still feel like after drinking this it tasted more like a Witbier. BeerBelcher (940), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 15, 2009 This beer is a really pleasant Belgian ale, although I have to say that like other "Belgian IPAs" I’ve had, I find the IPA part of the equation to be missing. A nice beer, but I don’t detect any of the hoppiness that I’d associate with an IPA.
Nice clear, bright, golden body with pretty average head. Aroma is a little mercaptan-y (vegetables), with Belgian yeast inspired fruity esters that I found pretty pleasant. Flavor is more of that characteristic Belgian yeast and spiciness (clove and coriander), and is pretty pleasant, although some of that mercaptan-iness remains. Mouthfeel is a touch sticky.
This is pretty good - I’d recommend it. Borresteijn (1415), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2009 355ml Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear bright yellow colour, white head. Floral aroma, very Belgian at first, with lots of yeast, citric hops. Flavour is sweet and malty at first, fruity, a hint of vegetables, a bit of yeast, citrus, ending in a dry light grapefruity finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily mouthfeel. American Duvel?
