Commercial Description:
The Roman name for the Low Countries–is a marriage of the best in American and Belgian brewing traditions. Belgian pilsner malt, a generous amount of American and European hops and a unique Belgian yeast strain combine to give Belgica big notes of citrus and spice, creating a lively concoction perfect for spring in the Rockies–or the Ardennes. 7.2% ABV.

First released as Belgian IPA:
Just for fun, the brewers took our Titan, a hop forward American IPA and introduced a Belgian yeast strain to it. The result is unique Belgian-style ale with lots of fruity esters, a citrus hop flavor and nice hop bitterness that’s surprisingly smooth. 7.5% alcohol by volume.

Light aroma of belgian yeast, bready malt, peppery floral hops with a light hint of citrus. Light golden pour with a nice fluffy head and some sticky lace. Bready pilsner malt flavor, light sweet bubblegum and a peppery floral hoppy finish. Nice dry bitterness that does linger for a while, resinous as well.Perhaps a little sweet as it warms.

Pours bright golden with a mostly receding off-white head. Aroma of herbal hops, notes of pine funk, mango, pear, cookie and spice.Tastes of herbal hops, pale malt, citrus and light alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, with moderate resins and lively carbonation. The hops are dominant in this bottle, was hoping for a bit more from the yeast.

Pours a clear orange gold with a decent white head. Yeasty aromas of light fruit and clove. Medium body with lots of carbonation. Flavor is clove, citrus, touch of barnyard, and some hop bitter. Perhaps less sweet and more bitter than most Belgians, but I like the way the hop sits in the rear of my mouth.

Pours clear gold with a small head which doesn’t last long. Yeast-driven aroma of cloves, banana, mustiness, and citrus. If you try really hard you can pick out a faint whiff of pine resin. The New World flavors come out more in the flavor, which begins with a short citric blast. The Belgian influence -- an underlying spice-banana-charred sugar melange -- comes in mid-palate, just before the ambivalent finish, which really can’t decide whether it’s Belgian or American. So it just sits there in wishy-washy astringency until the next sip. Solid beer up to the finish, which is very disappointing.

Bottle. A clear light golden color body withy a small fizzy white head, medium carbonation, tuns of sticky lace left all over the walls of my glass. Aroma is zesty ,lots of yeasty funk, some banana, clove and floral hops. Flavor is yeasty with a pretty good malt backbone, hints of grapefruit and lemony hops, some yeasty spice and a little grain, maybe a touch grassy, crisp clean mouthfeel, meduim body, with a lasting floral finish, quite drinkable and a pretty good brew all around.

This beer exhibits a real vegetal quality...and the aftertaste isn’t exactly pleasant. Starts out with hints of banana, clove, yeast, and candied sugar. Flavor is similar to others of the style, then turns into an odd, bitter, medicinal mess. Ample carbonation...nice head that left significant lacing. Just not right...off.

Fresh dough and cloves, slight lime notes. Shiny clear deep gold, big frothy head. Slight funk dough sweetness, big bitter bite, not terribly balanced. It might benefit from more aroma hops instead of bittering and/or some more residual sweetness. Big carbonation, medium mouth feel, bitter finish. Has some great components, but the combination is not quite right. Something is needed to provide a little more balance and harmony. It’s a decent beer, but far from great.

Bottle picked up at SL. Light orange, decent aroma of some hops and yeast characteristics. Taste is a hoppy, sugary with some spices not bad just nothing special... I usually like these hybrid ipa-belgians but this didnt do much for me... Overall just ok...
