Aroma is a whiff of urine, wheat, and spicy phenols. Taste is nearly the same, with a hit of DMS, and a harsh tannic finish. $2/12oz HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Slightly hazy oily gold with an average white head. Sweet yeasty/spicy aroma, quite grassy-bitter with a mild cereal malt backbone - not much alcohol on the nose. The taste follows, but all aspects diminished, and an odd, somewhat jarring acetone sharpness intrudes. Light bodied, only semi-lively, with a long weedy-bitter finish that has a slightly building harshness - not bad, but it seems a little jagged - promising, though - maybe a little tweaking to gentle the flavour? The aroma is very hoppy, flowery, and fruity - peaches primarily. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of malt, hops, and fruit - citrusy and peaches, leading to a very bitter finish. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Tap at Studio Square’s Craft Beer Week Fest 2009: Pale golden with good clarity and a thick pillowy dense white head with great retention. Very nice aroma- dry spicy with a lemon zest/lemon grass note and very dry Belgian pale/crackery malts with a subtle bread crust note and dry phenolics (almost seemed bretty). Creamy body. Softly sweet undertones- a doughy malt base with a dry yeast character balanced by herbal lemon grass hops (reminds me of Sorachi Ace). A very nice Belgian Ale that is quite underrated.
