Commercial Description:
The Roman name for the Low Countries–is a marriage of the best in American and Belgian brewing traditions. Belgian pilsner malt, a generous amount of American and European hops and a unique Belgian yeast strain combine to give Belgica big notes of citrus and spice, creating a lively concoction perfect for spring in the Rockies–or the Ardennes. 7.2% ABV.

First released as Belgian IPA:
Just for fun, the brewers took our Titan, a hop forward American IPA and introduced a Belgian yeast strain to it. The result is unique Belgian-style ale with lots of fruity esters, a citrus hop flavor and nice hop bitterness that’s surprisingly smooth. 7.5% alcohol by volume.

Bottle [12oz]. Pours a clear, bubbly yellow-gold with an average size somewhat-lasting fluffy white head. Aroma of yeast and hops -- floral, citrusy and a bit herbal and spicy, along with some light sugary sweetness -- I quite like these Belgian / IPA combos. Flavour is hoppy, yeasty and fruity along with some bread, herbs and spices and a slightly iffy finish -- not sure what it is about the finish (spices? Alcohol?) that I don’t particularly care for. Alcohol is a tad noticeable. Medium bodied. Not the best of these Belgian IPA type beers but still pretty good, I’d gladly drink it again.

On tap at the brewery on 7/18/09. Pours clear gold with super bubbly head and nice lacing. Banana is the sole aroma that dominates this beer. Nice bitter and yeast flavor with a hint of sour. A bit too long of a finish.

Doesn’t seem that far off from the Belgian hoppy beers I’ve tried. Aroma is rich fruit and orange with a slider of yeast funk. Pours golden with a hint of edge and produces a white top of quick fizz. Sharp and edgy on the tongue. Fruity and hoppy - a Belgian IPA it is. Nice job GD

Bottled @The Rake. Yellow color decent white head. Sticky fruity yeasty aroma with peach and mango. Finish is a bit dry yeasty. Mango, peach belgi-yeast flavors. Stylish Belgian - actually closer to "Belgian Belgians" than "American Belgians".

Short-lived small white head; clear yellow-golden beer. Potato peel, starch (??), strange yeast notes. Again potato peel in the taste ( I hope they’re at least Bintjes, with that name ), fresh hopsacks, weird malt notes, like chewing fresh dry malt in a brewery, and again lots of yeasty esters. Sticky (hopoils?), medium bodied, dry. Unbalanced, American hops fighting the Wyeast that is supposed to be Belgian. Many thanks to Glenn & Davy for offering me free, what the barman @ Delirium Café refused to sell.

Clear pale golden color. Aroma is basically of yeast and hops. It has a little bit of a citrus undertone. Taste of yeast, wheat, and hops. I can pick up a little bit of cloves. Not much of a bite in this though. Nothing special about this one.

clean white head on this unbalanced highly flavorful and demonstraive brew. coriander and clove to start and then comes a hop profile presented in orange and the best of its kind to my knowledge. mildly slick and refreshing with a chalk that is barely there and as i prefer it this is a must try and a damn good beer with its rye malt harshness that i adore!
