Commercial Description:
The Roman name for the Low Countries–is a marriage of the best in American and Belgian brewing traditions. Belgian pilsner malt, a generous amount of American and European hops and a unique Belgian yeast strain combine to give Belgica big notes of citrus and spice, creating a lively concoction perfect for spring in the Rockies–or the Ardennes. 7.2% ABV.

First released as Belgian IPA:
Just for fun, the brewers took our Titan, a hop forward American IPA and introduced a Belgian yeast strain to it. The result is unique Belgian-style ale with lots of fruity esters, a citrus hop flavor and nice hop bitterness that’s surprisingly smooth. 7.5% alcohol by volume.

Pour is a clear gold with an average white head. Aroma is lots of fruity esters from the yeast with a nice pleasant pine hop. Flavor is also fruity wth lots of pepper and spice. Hops are there but they take a backseat to the fruity yeast notes. Still this is something different but very good.

bottle 355 ml
Appearance: clear golden look with mid white , fine beaded top.3+
Nose: good blend , sweet malts with hint of wheat , banana , touch of coriander , leafy citrus and alcohol. 7+
Flavor/Palate : Mid light bodied. Potent hop front with Belgian Strong ale accents. Sweet malts , good warmth with yeasty sides. Drying finish. Long lasting hop profile. Felt to be stronger than its listed 7.2%. Belgica reminded me of anniversary Unibroue brews.

Bottle pours a clear light golden hue with ample frothy white head. Nose is sweet and citrusy. Flavor has a sweet belgian yeast and some herbal/spicy hops, but not what I would call IPA. The ending does leave a typical IPA-esk finish in your mouth. Overall, I found this to be too sweet belgian, and not enough IPA. Good attempt at something new though.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours clearish yellow with a decent white head. The aroma is mostly Belgian with fruit esters, but also a hint of soapiness. The flavor is sweet with fruity esters, powder, and a hint of dry hops. The mouthfeel is medium carbonation and dryness.

Crystal clear and honey hued. Moderate carbonation visible. Small white head has nice retention. A funky yeasty and fruity aroma. Flavor offers moderate bitter tartness with fruit and yeast making for an interesting beer. Peppery spices come late. Hops are underneath and make for a nice backbone.

Bottle. Pours bright gold with an off white head. Fruity and floral hoppy aroma with some lighter belgian yeast notes. The flavor is hoppier than the aroma, both floral and citric, with lighter notes of fruity and yeast. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Bottled@The Rake. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, yeast, some pleasant hoppyness as well as mild wooden notes. Also some slight herbal notes. Flavour is much the same. Quite good belgian blonde or tripel, if it would have some slight more spicy yeastiness to it.

On tap at Hopcat. Yeast in aroma. Light yellow body with foaming head, and you an see the carbonation bubbles, with spidery lacing following. Above-average mouthfeel. Dry and hoppy.
