Commercial Description:
We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

On tap in GD tap room. Pours black with a light brown head. Quite sweet with a light bitterness. Aromas of dark chocolate and a hint of toasted malts. Also aromas of pepper that actually makes the beer quite hot. Hints of vanilla. Full bodied soft carbonation. Hints of residual sugars in the finish. Nice balance between chocolate aromas and pepper aromas.

Thanks to Texasbartender for this beer. Pours an obsidian black with a rich, creamy head and nice lacing. Strong aroma of cocoa, vanilla and chocolate mixed with a bit of smokey ash. Creamy mouthfeel with full coverage on the palate. Flavors of choclate, coffees and some pepper on the finish. Lingering capsaicin flavor after drinking...which I like. I don’t think this is as balanced or as refined as the regualr Oak Aged Yeti, but an interesting take on it.

The aroma is almost candy like, smells of chocolate, cherry, a little vanilla and a slight smokey. The head is light brown, creamy, mostly diminishing with excellent lacing. The color is dark dark brown almost black. The initial flavor is a full creamy mouth feel, tastes of chocolate, vanilla, a slight wine taste that hits the roof of the mouth, very good, has a little of alcohol burn.

A very good beer, but not as good as the original. It says the hops have been toned down, which I think is to the detriment of the beer, but those who love chocolate will love this beer. Huge chocolate nose with a slightly watery body and spicy finish. Very nice, but i will stick to the original.

Pours very dark with a dark brown head that is on the rocky / soapy head. The aroma has chocolate and oak in a big way on the initial blast. There is also some dark berry fruits, cream and some hot pepper. The body is thick and smooth with some gentle carbonation helping the flavors. The initial taste starts with dark chocolate, roasted malt, cream, vanilla, bits of char and some cheyenne pepper. The finish has more hot pepper and is sharper than expected from an impy stout. Good beer.
