Commercial Description:
Named for a medieval Scottish sword, Claymore Scotch ale is a tribute to the legendary "Wee Heavy" beers of Scotland. A malty, deep-ruby-hued ale, it features a generous amount of caramel sweetness, a reserved hop profile and a subtle warming character, at 7.7% alcohol by volume. Claymore will be available in six-packs and on draft through mid-April.

Bottled@Oliver Twist, Stockholm (thanks to the guys from Ölfrämjandet who shared some beers with me). Ambery brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is leather, toffee, caramel malts, plum and wood along with some fruityness as well. Flavour is quite much the same with the leathery notes being rather dominating. Yet very easy to drink.

12 oz bottle. Poured a super deep ruby red, almost brown, with an average size slightly fizzy beige head. Aroma ha lots of earthy malts, burnt toffee, peat and alcohol. The body is slightly thin with fizzy carbonation. Flavor is earth, chocolate, prune, plum, peat and stale toffee. Not bad at close to $11 a 6er this one is on the expensive side.

Bottle [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o tupalev. Pours a very deep orange-ruby with a small diminishing frothy tan head. Sweet, malty aroma along with some light smoke, brown and some coffee. Flavour’s good, not great, with toasted caramel malt, brown sugar and a hint of smoke. Bitter finish. Syrupy mouthfeel, average bodied. Pretty good.
