| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 27, 2008 The two bottles of DPA that I enjoyed really reaffirmed why I love American Pale Ales....easy, quenching, with plenty of malt and hops to be shared amongst the taste buds. Bright copper color, creamy eggshell colored head, and vast amounts of thick lacing. Sweet toffee aroma with bread and honey roasted nuts. Fresh, fruity/flowery hops permeate the scent. Filling with a nice malt body and a moderately light bitterness. Drinkable is an understatement. Near perfect balance between layers of fresh malt and floral hops. Bread, caramel, nuts, dry honey, flowers, citrus, and peppery spice are all to be discovered. Fantastic all around great beer that leaves you wanted to crack open another one. rederic (1811), montréal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2008 There are some beers where drinking the beer is an experience. There are other beers that let you drink while paying attention to other things without being bland. Both are fully welcome in my beer fridge and this is one of the latter. There is a noticable hop presence in the aroma, comes across a little more fruity than expected. The flavor takes on a more malt driven focus with a taste somewhere between biscuit and cracker backed up by a bit of toasted nuts. This is one of those beers I’d be more than happy to keep in stock for college football Saturdays. wetherel (1628), Encinitas, California, USA
