| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Bottle purchased from Friendly Mini-Mart in Lakewood. Pour was a pretty heady golden with a very clear and clean body. The aroma has lots of coriander and clove spice, hints of lemon and sugar come out with a swirl. Flavor is not what I expected. From the head I was expecting a well-hopped or carbonated beast, with 8+% backing it up, but in fact this is somewhat gentle. Rather tame. The flavor comes out with a little bit of ginger and lemon with a thin powdery sugar flavor. This is just too enjoyable and how they managed to crank this up to 8.1% must be on the sweetness alone. God, this is pure panty-meltin’ material. BBB63 (4232), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2009 Bottle and served in my big ole Karmeliet glass: Hazy deep golden hue with a lovely initial fluffy head which left good lace upon the glassware. The aroma has all the expected aromas of coriander, flowery hops and yeast, wheat and pale grains, and a bit of orange peel and pear, some notes of sugar and buttery bread as well. The taste is fruity and spicy but neither are over the top has I feared could be the case. The one thing holding the brew back from pure enjoyment is the sugary and malty sweetness that lasts far too long on the palate, needs to be more acidic IMO. Actually the addition of a twist of lemon or orange would help tame that sweetness (it did by the way). The beer is yeasty and wheaty throughout and there is hint of metallic notes upon the aftertaste. The mouth feel is a tad chalky and soft despite the carbonation levels, as it warms the alcohol does start to appear forcefully. As DocLock stated "with a few tweaks this could be better", could not agree more WeeHeavySD (2980), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

Pours golden and slightly cloudy with a tan head. Nose is slightly spiced. Taste is sweet light and uber drinkable. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 29, 2009 Bottle from Craft. Pour is hazy canary with 2-finger fluffy white head that grows exponentially with the repour and laces well. Nose is limey citrus, spicy yeasty, clovey, with hopcitrus. The taste is initially on the sweet side, citric and syrupy, with lime, clove, and some spicy hoppy notes. Gets a tad cloying late, and is good, but with a few tweaks could be better. talon1117 (622), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jul 28, 2009 Excellent pour with a very hazy, straw to golden color and a brilliant white, very creamy, frothy, medium to full head which is fully lasting and frothy leaving excellent frothy, tight, Belgian lace. Nose is a letdown; notes of creamed corn??, coriander, musty yeast, lemon zest, and some husky grains. Flavor is better with some clove, light baking spices, faint pepper, lemon zest, and some doughy yeast. Palate is fair with a medium to full body, a thick and watery mouthfeel, and soft to lively carbonation; the acidity is very light making this not very drinkable as the description suggests. Finishes a bit offputting with some creamed corn coming back, a big dose of sugar, and some metallic notes lingering. One of the nicest looking beers I have seen in a quite a while but it is all downhill from there. Similar corn notes to the Belgica beer they put out not too long ago. The nose was offputting, the finish was hard to swallow, and the palate was too thick for me, and that is saying a lot. GD has put out some very marginal Belgian-style beers recently; too bad considering they have put out quite a few nice American beers in their time. Nephilium (553), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Big aroma of yeast, spice, and wheat. A touch of funk noticeable in the background of it. Pours a clear light amber, with extremely visible carbonation, and a huge fluffy white head. Light mouthfeel, notes of cloves and banana, and a touch of citrus on the finish. Alcohol is very well hidden, and this is a light tasty wit for a hot summer night. RSRIZZO (1368), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Color is a bright gold with a good haze. Carbonation is good with a big white head. Aroma is a little sour with scents of grain and lemon. Taste is rich, smooth and fresh. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a smooth feel. Finish comes in with a rich feel and flavors of lemon, honey and a touch of coriander and white pepper. After taste is clean with a refreshing feel. I really like this brew its very tasty but seems to lack the sourness of a true White.
