Commercial Description:
Think of it as a hefeweizen’s older brother. A hearty mix of wheat and dark German barley malts gives it a medium body and muddy brown hue, while our proprietary yeast strain provides the signature notes of banana and clove. If you like wheat beers, come to the Dunkel side. You won’t be disappointed. Just don’t put any lemon in it. 6.4% ABV.

Pours amber, medium offwhite head. Aroma has some funk, yeast and syrupy sweetness. Nice mild flavor, some maltiness, strong yeast. Fairly smooth drinking, some spice. Decent, but not my favorite.

Bottled. It poured a nice cloudy amber with a dirty off white head. While this was very easy to drink, I was disappointed that it tasted too watery. It was kind of like sweetened potting soil in flavor. I think a heavier malt body with more emphasis on the banana and clove flavors could have improved this beer quite a bit. As it stands it seems mediocre, and probably something I would pass up in the future.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Poured a cloudy gold/orange, with a large off white head. Aroma of fruit, wheat, bread, light spice. Taste is also fruity, with plenty of wheat, and malty bread notes to accompany. Some clove as well. Mouth is light and a little creamy. Finish is sweet. Overall, a decent dunkel.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The color is reddish, clear, with an off white to beige colored head. The smell caramel, wheat, banana, clove, and sweet. The taste has the same characteristics are the smell.

Bottle from Keg Liquor. Poured a clear brown color with a large off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Good banana, clove and roasted wheat aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Appearance is murky brown with an off-white head. Aroma is cloves and malt with a little banana. Flavor is similar to the aroma: cloves up front with a malt backing and a slight banana taste in the finish. Overall, a pleasant, drinkable beer.
