Bit of chalkyness from the wheat. Finishes sweet and malty. Not a vey good brew LtDan (505), LA - Originally from South NJ!, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Appearance: Pours a auburn/mahogany red with a sturdy white strip of foam at the top.
Aroma: Faint whifs of wheat bread.
Taste: Roasted caramel and wheat. Has some pear and banana fruitiness. Light traces of banana and mildly bitter hops in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Rather thin.
Overall: I was looking for something bolder and heartier with this beer. It’s very tame in my opinion. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Man, this has nothing that I look for in a dunkelweizen - no hearty, nutty character - no balancing wheaty tang/tartness - none of the complex phenols - this is pretty much a medium sweet, slightly more hearty amber ale - there is a little bit of banana and yeasty character to let you know that they at least TRIED to make a dunkelweizen - as a beer, it’s not terrible, but it’s certainly not what it’s advertised as. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Bottle. Murky rust colored body with a short tan head. Aroma is bready malts, caramel, wheat, chocolate covered bananas, and candy. Taste is sweet malts, caramel, wheat, dark bread, bananas, and soft candied fruit. Body is bubbly and light-medium. Finishes with more chocolate covered banana, wheat notes, caramel, light earthy notes and dark bread. More sweet notes coming through here. The sweetness works with this, though. Not bad!
