| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Had on tap at Great Divide 15th Anniversary Party. Color is a hazy brown with good carbonation and a nice head. Aroma is sweet with a good banana note. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth with a creamy feel. Finish is a nutty malt flavor followed by a bold yeast flavor of banana and a touch of clove and hop spice. After taste leaves you with a smooth feel as the flavors slowly fade. This is a very tasty Dunkelweizen and maybe one of the best I had. VitaminR (440), Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2009 Doughy cinnamon roll nose with some clove pepper and lemons. Cloudy brown color, hints of amber, big frothy head. Cinnamon sugar sourdough toast sweetness, balanced by some decent bitterness. Huge carbonation, medium mouth feel, clovey spice cake finish. Well thought out beer, fantastic characteristics. ChainGangGuy (2592), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Appearance: Pours out a clearish, garnet-hued body with a smallish, off-white head.
Smell: A sweet and malty aroma with notes of dark, grainy wheat-based bread, dark brown sugar, dark caramel, and three Tootsie Rolls. Also some scents of chewing gum, clove, and dark fruitiness.
Taste: Dark, bready toastiness with sweet flourishes of brown sugar and nutty dark caramel. Hint of Tootsie Rolls. Flavors of bubble gum, spice, and dark fruits join the fray. Another hint of Tootsie Rolls. Oh-so mild touch of banana. Very light bitterness. Final pinch of clove spice in the otherwise sweetish, malty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Fairly smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Well, it certainly isn’t everyday that you run into a dunkelweizen, though I’m glad I did. Makes for sweet, easy, lightly wheaty drinking on this Wednesday evening. It’s nice to see Great Divide churning out so many new beers this year. talon1117 (627), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2009 Bottled 04-09. Pours a murky, mahogany-chestnut color with a yellowish, average, creamy, pillowy head which is somewhat lasting and leaves some random lace. Nose is pleasant but not overly complex; banana and clove notes are dominant as expected with also some other spices of nutmeg, some light earthy notes, some bready yeast, and brown sugar. Flavor is similar with some tart wheat, light vanilla, banana and clove are still there, bready yeast, and minimal, earthy bitterness. Palate is nice with a medium body, soft to lively carbonation, and a silky texture. Finishes mostly sweet with lingering yeast and clove with a nutty presence emerging. Nothing bad to say about this one, solid in every aspect from start to finish. GD creates incredible beers and this one did not disappoint. Extremely drinkable and fitting the bill of great dunkel weiss beers. Perfect sweetness, not too cloying, and only enough hop presence. My only complaint would be the complexity but I am drinking a beer which was bottled last week! SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Aroma: Lots of dark wheat malt with a light dusting of hops.
Appearance: Dark Amber in color, Clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Nice wheat malt flavor this was a chewy bear thick and very malty. Nutty, with hints of caramel and thick banana finish.
Palate: Dry Finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: This was a thick and chewy beer full off spicy flavors. Interesting beer I think it was too thick.
