Commercial Description:
Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a new addition to the Yeti clan. A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official, you can now have Yeti with breakfast.

Suggested food pairings: Breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict, hash browns, cheesecake, creme brulee.

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, smoke and alcohol. Taste of vanilla, smoke, wood, roasted malt, espresso, chocolate, chestnuts, and light alcohol in the finish.

This poured a solid black color with a moderate tan head. The aroma contains some chocolate, espresso, and coffee. The flavor is rather rich with some espresso, milk, chocolate, dark fruit, and alcohol. Overall I really enjoyed this beer, nice impy stout.

pours black with a nice tan head. leaves some nice lace on the glass. Big espresso, bourbon, bitter burnt chocolate, roasted malt aroma. reminded me of a KBS. seems like some age would help this one. a little hot at the moment, but good nonetheless. Too hot, actually. not enjoyable to drink a whole bottle.

A fairly recent arrival in Ohio I snatched a bottle off the shelves as soon as possible. It was money well spent. I may just have to pick up a second bottle to celebrate something important; this is a beer that everyone should buy at the first opportunity.

Aroma / Appearance - The deep black body was as dark as they can make a beer. The brownish crown gave a regal appearance. Creamy lacing accented the total visual appeal. Vanilla, smoke, chocolate, licorice, dark cherry, espresso, and caramel all made appearances as I reflected on the strength and depth of this beer.

Flavor / Palate - Bitter coffee, strong Belgian chocolate, and ash start things with a bang. Next comes anise, blackberries, raisins, vanilla, and roasted tastes. Lingering in the throat it sticks around for a long time. Balanced at 9.5% it has an evident alcohol presence but not enough to detract from an excellent beer. It only improves on an already fabulous base (regular Yeti).

(Sample Date: 3/15/2009 Source:Other) 22 oz 2008 bottle. Big roast and coffee aroma. Black with small tan head. Vanilla, coffee and roast dominate flavor with a caramelized malty sweetness. Medium body with a sweet roasty slightly astringent finish that is moderately bitter. Yum

Very woody and hot on the nose. Hints of vanilla and espresso as well. Pours a nice balck with a good brownish head that lasted just nice.. Close to full body with a smooth finish.. Carbonation is good. Flavor was oaky and coffee... Warming effect on the end.. Chocolate and roast malt too.. I think this will get a lot better when it warms up.. right now it is still good

Can this be the equal of the Oaked Yeti? Incredibly rich and thick pour. A medium tan head sits on top and floats like it is a separate entity from the beer. Aroma is indeed espresso with that mix of chocolate and coffee. There is also alcohol and dark fruit. Feel is powdery and the thickness was more than just appearance. Flavor is espresso, dark fruit, alcohol, and a nice hop zing. This is an amazing beer and it can stand toe to toe to the Oak Aged Yeti. Quite and accomplishment!

So excited to try this beer. Pours thick and black with a huge creamy, brown head. Looks like a chocolate milkshake. Aroms is rich with coffee, licorice, milk chocolate, caramel, hazelnut, and vanilla. Mouthfeel is big and creamy, the way a stout should be. Coffee and milk chocolate are the dominant characteristics, with a slight alcohol note. What a great beer, Definetly one of my new favorite imperial stouts. Would recommend to anyone!
