Aroma was of very good coffee and vanilla. Flavor was much the same, good bitterness to it solid vanilla and only a slight oak. This is a good one for sure.

I actually missed this beer while carousing my local liquor store. I am sure glad soccer290 was there to point it out to me! It pours a jet black color with a very nice brown head that rises up after it is poured. It actually looked like the head was growing on top of the brew. The aroma consisted of a LOT of coffee, roasted malt, and some chocolate and burnt wood. The taste was dominated by coffee with some hints of roasted malt, burnt wood, and chocolate. This brew lined my mouth after every drink and made me keep wanting more. It also left excellent lacing on the side of my glass also. Again, Great Divide impresses... soccer290 (137), Highland Park, Illinois, USA

Was very excited to see this at my local liquor store, as I loved Oak Aged Yeti (was what turned me on to stouts), and I love coffee in stouts. Pours a dark opaque black with a fluffy chocolate colored head that rose after the pour, then slowly dissipated. Smells of roasted chocolate, some oak character, and lots of coffee, with maybe a hint of vanilla. Tastes very similar, with the coffee/espresso becoming more apparent, and more masking of the other flavors. Goes down very smooth, with a bit of stickiness early, but eventually gets less sticky as it warmed (which was surprising). Very good beer, which I actually enjoyed more than Oak Aged Yeti, but that’s only because of the coffee character. IlanMan (847), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma was balanced between a light roasted coffee, sweet malt, roasted barley, and light chocolate. Flavor was silky smooth, velvety, and awesome with such a good blending of oak, vanilla, espresso, malt, chocolate, it goes on. Very well made brew with a thick and chewy mouth-feel. This was a well enjoyed beer. gracefullypunk (327), Washington, USA

Aroma of chocolate, espresso, malts, maple, and brown sugar, but with a little bit of a burnt aroma. Medium carbonation, a bit surprising for a stout. The flavor starts with the espresso, moves into caramel and then the bitter hoppy finish. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 8, 2009 A deep, rusty brown body, wholly opaque, with a dark tan head. Mahogany in depth and mood. Scent of coffee, dust, earth, and wood chips. Taste is espresso syrup, roasted malt, coffee, earth, resin, and compost. Overall, it’s another amazing, layered, and complex creation for the Yeti brand, and for Great Divide. Keep them coming. tturner (106), , Washington, USA

I love to just keep a swig in the front of my mouth and rub my tongue through it.
