| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 17, 2009 Pours extremely dark brown, completely black in the glass, no light gets in even around the corners. Big puffy two-finger tan head, good, lasting lacing. Fragrant, coffee grounds, bitter chocolate, oak, some dark fruit, and molasses. Thick, velvety body, just a little dry. Sweet and thick up front with dark chocolate, espresso, oak, caramel, and even some notes of leather. As sweet as it is, it’s even more bitter, with some pine and a tiny bit of citrus. nbutler11 (773), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 17, 2009 Bottle from Papago. Pours a dark chocolate color with a thick mocha head. Smells of hops and oak. Tastes like this beer was made in a frying pan with flavors of grease, hazelnut, baker’s cocoa, espresso, and faint cream. Harmonizes as the temperature warms. Potent, yet nuanced. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2009 22oz gold foil topped bomber served in a snifter. This poured a dense, opaque black with a thick head of dark tan, cascading (almost appeared nitroed at first glance) foam that slowly settled into a lasting cap. A heavy coat of lace covered the sides of the glass. The aroma was classic Yeti, but with an even dose of fresh coffee. The rich chocolate and roasted notes were still there, with the espresso just adding another layer. The flavor was robust and included heavy doses of chocolate, coffee, molasses, roasted malt, and also some vanilla. Also some mild pine in the finish, but the hops were mainly there for bittering. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and a touch sticky. Light carbonation. I already thought Yeti was a great beer, and I love bold coffee, so this was right up my alley. abcfan (247), New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 16, 2009 A little bit of a disappointment. Very nice coffee aroma and taste, but I would rather have original/oaked yeti over this one. Maybe it needs some age on it? Finish is very dry/bitter. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Perfectly black body with an orange and medium tan head. The aroma was fresh green beans and with espresso notes. There was also some caramel character. The taste was toasted with some rich milk chocolate and espresso. There was also medium green bean character. I wanted to like this more, but the espresso doesn’t mix well with the Yeti. After a while, it is like eating straight coffee beans. A disappointment that wasn’t nearly as good as Yeti or Oaked Yeti. Skyview (4108), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 15, 2009 Picked up a single 22-oz bomber at Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick tan head that has nice retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of mostly coffee/mocha, dark chocolate, vanilla, a hint of citrus zest and molasses. Taste is full bodied, flavors of mostly coffee, toasted dark malt, chocolate, vanilla, and molasses. Finish has a slight metallic texture from the higher alcohol but still has a mild coffee aftertaste that slowly fades, then reveals a slight bitter aftertaste. dogfish120love (291), west hartford, Connecticut, USA
