Commercial Description:
Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a new addition to the Yeti clan. A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official, you can now have Yeti with breakfast.

Suggested food pairings: Breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict, hash browns, cheesecake, creme brulee.

Bottle from SL. The pour was deep dark black with a surprisingly still decent head. The aroma was nice roasted coffee, slight choco detectable underneath it with vanilla (but oak not detected by me). The flavor was all of the aroma, rich, nicely coffee-ed up, roasty bitterness that balanced it out, no "sweet" or "cloying" elements at all. Vanilla and slight wood detected as it warmed. Gotta go get another bottle of this for another coffee brew runoff. Since ST’s Jahva didn’t hold a candle to DDC’s Peche Mortel, maybe this can (and this would clearly be less "rich" and more drinkable!)?

Bomber. HUGE coffee nose with load and loads of dark chocolate. Pitch black oour with an immovable rocky light brown head. Hoppyish nose, strong/intense flavor without muchg alcohol, just lots of chocolate. Huge huge huge dark chocolate taste with some cocoa and chocolate cake, light mokka. Full body, some slurry. Very dry finish, lovely espresso aftertaste that lasts long, alcohol seems more like seven. Super classy, top-shelf stuff! Couldn’t finish this alone, couldn’t really have more than four or five ounces (perhaps best out of Turkish coffee cups or espresso shooters), but man, when it hits, it hits!

Pours the same as all the Yetis. Aroma is downright sharp with a lot of grapefruit and leafy hops, with some fresh coffee breans and cocoa (truffle dust). To me, this tastes much better than it smells with dark chocolate, milk, coffee, some vanilla and charred nuts. Fnishes with coffee bean, heavy roast, and toasted peanuts. Pretty hea y mouthfeel, but definitely creamy and lush. Loved it basically, expect the aroma. Too hoppy!

Pours a deep motor oil black with a decent tan head that coats the glass the entire way down. Aroma is of bitter chocolate and burnt malt. Flavor is of bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee with a creamy palate and a bit of astringincy in the finish. Fantastic beer. Leaves a long lasting coffee aftertaste.

Draft at Aroma’s. I always thought the old version of yeti was a little light bodied. Espresso does the trick and adds a nice component to this brew.

Bomber, feb 13 09 bottling date. Pours very black with a long sustaining dark tan head. Aroma shows a bunch of hops and a bunch of oak. Reminds me a bit of Oak Aged Unearthly there’s so much hops here. Coffee is not too noticeable underneath the hops and wood but some chocolate is. Flavor is intensely tannic, woody, bitter and astringent. Way overdone. The finish has a nice chocolatey milkshake thing going for it but the wood up front is overwhelming. I honestly don’t get that much coffee from this. This might be good with some age but right now it’s kind of a mess.

22oz bottle. Pours black with a large mocha head. Dark chocolate, coffee, and espresso dominate the aroma. The flavor is bitter coffee and hops with oak, vanilla, bourbon, and roasted malt. Finish is bitter and dry with medium astringency. Full bodied and slightly fizzy. The espresso seems to add a lot of bitterness, but not much deep roast flavor. A tasty beer overall.
