Bottle at Springslickers fish fry. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roast, coffee, and dark fruit. Medium to full bodied with a somewhat soft texture. Flavor is pretty much espresso and dark roasted malts countered by a strong roast bitterness. Finish is dry and ashy with a lingering bitterness. Somewhat disappointing considering the source.

22oz. bottle. Good coffee, coco and oatmeal aroma. Black body with dark chcolate milk colored head. Good coffee, oatmeat with some bittering. Medium creamy chcolate makes this one smooth on the palate. An enjoyable Impy Stout.

Bottle with another big shout out to coyotehunter. Good times. Pours a luscious black with a finger or two of almost grainy brown sugar head that laces and fades nicely to that lovely reddish-brown frosting. Aroma is strongly of espresso, chocolate, cherries, vanilla, and wood. Taste is substantially the same, with excellent movement throughout that array of flavors in the palate. Mouthfeel is thick and viscous, and oh-so-pleasant. Warmth and alcohol come through only at the end, but are well-balanced by the coffee flavors and light bitterness. Not too much more to say. An outstanding beer.

About 6 months ago. Amazing beer. Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a new addition to the Yeti clan. A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official, you can now have Yeti with breakfast.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy finely sized dark brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation dark brown colored body. The aroma was brown malt dark malt and woody. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of malt hops roasted malt dark malt and coffee. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Mind blowing, the absolute best coffee stout that I’ve ever had. It is refreshingly bittersweet with cocoa to back it up. Absolutely incredible... Pours pitch black with a nice head and lacing... smell is velvety dark chocolate and espresso coffee with a touch of wood... taste is the same as advertised by the aromas... mouth feel is pure velvet, alcohol is there any? ....nuff said!

Bottles 02-09. Excellent pour with an opaque black body and a dark tan, mostly full, mostly lasting, pillowy, frothy head which a leaves significant frothy head throughout and a frothy lace all over. Nose is nice and pleasant with lots of cedar hops and dry oak, espresso is prominent but not dominant with a sweet and smoky tone, bitter chocolate undertones, vanilla, burnt caramels, and light molasses. Flavor is much of the same but combination of the oak, hops, and espresso bitterness is quite a kick in the mouth; again the scorched oak and cedary hops begin the flavor progression, the sweet and smoky espresso is more bitter than the nose led on, vanilla beans, chocolate notes are almost bakers’ chocolate like, and just hints at some burnt caramel and a whiskey tinge. Palate is nearly perfect as well; a bold warmth, more than full, velvety, round, viscous, and soft to lively. Finishes bitter with only a bit of chocolate and caramel dissipating into lingering espresso, cedar, and dry oaken whiskey notes. It is hard for me to say a bad thing about this one with a base beer which I like and the the oaked Yeti which I love, but it just does not live up to the original oaked. Perfect look, perfect palate, nice notes, but maybe the espresso took away from some of the malt complexity, although added to the bitterness. A very, very nice beer but I would maybe like to change the oak a bit or maybe brew the original with espresso? Nevertheless a very nice Imp from GD.

Bottle. Poured a black with a dark brown head that laced nicely. Aroma was full of espresso notes with a slight undertone of chocolate that brought out a mocha flavor. That flavor battled a bit with the oak, hop and alcohol notes on the nose. Flavor was full of espresso with a nice bite of alcohol. Nice and thick on the tongue.
