Commercial Description:
Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a new addition to the Yeti clan. A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official, you can now have Yeti with breakfast.

Suggested food pairings: Breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict, hash browns, cheesecake, creme brulee.

22oz bottle served in a Snifter on 10/27/09 (Courtesy of RSRIZZO)-Pours black with a huge tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and vanilla. Taste of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and slight alcohol. This full bodied brew is well balanced and well done. A great addition to the Yeti lineup.

DArk brown pour thin dark tan head. Simple but intense aromas of chocolate thick heavy cream with hints of that bitter roastyness from the espresso . Flavor follows suit dark coffe roast smooth silk cream. Hints of booze linger on the mouth. So warm and yummy

Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma holds definite coffee/espresso, dark chocolate, cream, roasted malt, and a bit of charred wood and chalk. Flavor is on another echelon from the smell; tons of coffee grounds, roasted malt, big cream notes, wood, and plentiful chocolate. The palate is absolutely insane; massive roast notes, but also that great chocolate and cream sweetness. Yet another variant of Yeti, and yet another ridiculously good brew.

Dark Brown/Black pour, tan head. Aroma is Cream, Chocolate, Coffee Roast. one dimensional, yet extremely pleasing aroma...Flavor is woody chocolate with exceptional coffee roast bitterness that envelopes the whole palate. It even lingers on the tongue, sticky and full of woody bitterness. the mouthfeel is creamy and leaves a boozey tingle on the tongue as it passes. The addition of espresso to one of my favorite oak aged beers is welcomed. This shit is tasty.

Oily black pour with a vivacious tan head. Aroma is massively coffee oriented with bakers chocolate, roasted barley, oak, and cream. Not overly complex, but extremely robust and hard hitting. Just can’t brush it off. Flavor is creamy to the max with unescapable oak, 100% cocoa chocolate, dark roast coffee, mocha, cappuccino, and latte. So impressively crafted. Palate is extremely viscous with an oily mouthfeel and creamy texture. Fuckin’ A. Fuckin’ B even... As if the regular yeti wasn’t enough... big ups to the GD crew.

Draft at Brouwers Big Wood 2009. Huge chocolate-espresso nose. Tart, full roasty nut body. Rich mouth, fully coating. Very refined with a big of spice (cayenne?).

I’ve tried many a Yeti, and it’s always an awesome experience. Aroma- Everyone raves about the esspresso, but I smell lots of chocolate. Some esspresso, vanilla and fusel alcohols are present. Appearance- Murky, Dark brown to black, frothy brown head. Flavor- High everything, perfect for an RIS. Very Chocolatey, with plenty of esspresso. Palate- Chewey. Medium carbonation. A sippin’ beer. Overall- Huge flavors all around, like a RIS should be. I don’t think the esspresso is overbearing at all... How can any one flavor be overbearing in this beer? They’re all overbearing, but that’s the point, right? The funny thing is, even if you don’t like RIS’ you’ll buy this, because it’s a gem, and you’ll like it... because there’s too much going on to want to look away.

Jet back appearance with frothy brown head. Strong coffee aroma and taste with vanilla finish. Full, thick feel with to be expected with impy stout. Coffee flavor overpowers the oak barrel.

In short: A highly roasted and excessively espresso flavoured impy stout. For those who like their coffee strong, very strong.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed relatively fresh 4 months after bottling date.
The look: Black body topped by a persistent medium tan head
In long: Nose is intensely coffee with light chocolaty notes. The beer smells like one of those coffee dessert. Taste is overly roasted, developing asparagus notes like other overly roasted stouts. Coffee flavour is overwhelming with burnt toasts and some cacao. Finish is very roasted. I like coffee flavoured stouts (Peche Mortel, Speedway, etc.) but this is not coffee flavoured stout, this is stout flavoured espresso. Not bad as a digestive drink but just ok as a beer, and I use the term “beer” very loosely in this case. I hope this beer is not too successful, the last thing we need is jacked up hyperactive drunks.
