Bomber w/ Justin R on the doomy friday afternoon/evening after daily pint. No reason not to like this unless you didn’t like regular oak aged ... or you really hate coffee. It’s good ... really good.

Really a very good beer. RIch, full, long lasting flavors really drive this beer and make it something that you can sip on for a pretty long time. As expected, there’s a serious coffee kick from the espresso, which cranks up the flavor and nicely complements the roast. Excellent.

Bottle shared by Andy in St. Louis, got it from Wine and Cheese Place. Pours black with a one-finger brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate, and oak. Coffee flavor as well, with distinct earthy notes to the blend, along with sweet vanilla, hops, oak, and chocolate. Good balance between the coffee flavor and oak aging, with a large dash of hops, which I expected from any Yeti after trying the regular one. Full bodied and woody. Thick mouthfeel, equal parts oily and grainy.

Birthday gift for the wife (yes, I am blessed). Bottled Feb. 09, consumed 11.27.09. Thick black with moderate brown but otherwise unremarkable head. Aroma of obvious chocolate, tart cherries, espresso beans, sherry, and a metallic soy sauce. Hints of green apple and fruitcake. Flavors were initially richly sweet with chocolate, espresso, ripe red berries and tart cherries, so basically congruent to the nose, and then a delayed onset of what became a long, intensely bitter, chalky, salty finish. A massive beer. Better than the regular Oak-Aged version we tried a couple months ago, which was bottled at the same time and so a little younger. But man, awesome awesome stuff.

Near black color with a small light brown head. Big piney aroma starts things out. Tar, caramel and coffee also wander about in the background. Some strong chocolate liqueur also comes out over time. Sweet start. Charred wood, coffee, pine hops all in the flavors. LIght alcohol in the finish and into the linger. Slightly warming. I still am quite sure I prefer the regular Yeti.

a bold beer. smell was vanilla, malty, alcohol. taste went other directions. bitter, coffee, hops. march 5, 2009 batch. very good.

Big thanks to daknole. Coffee and vanilla balance in the aroma, with a healthy dose of dust-before-the-rain in the background. Brown-black pour, dark tan head, good retention. Flavor blends a dark, earthy coffee with a vanilla sweetness from the oak, any roasted stouty components are thoroughly in the background. It’s neither the best coffee beer nor the best barrel beer I’ve had, but it does blend those additives in a very nice harmony. Full bodied, smooth drinking, drowns the abv in a lot of flavor. Very nice beer.

Rating #250! This stuff was amazing! Bottle 2/05. Thick black pour, thick tan head. Thick coating of the mouth, great flavor and balnce!. Hope to find more.
