Commercial Description:
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

2007 Bottle. Pours with a largish, slightly yellow, rocky white head that leaves lots of lacing. Ever so slightly hazed amber body. Tangy orange-citrus hops on the nose with a touch of cannabis. Taste is m alty with some light, but dank, chewy hops rounding out the finish (but bitterness is very moderate). Full, slightly syrupy mouthfeel.

Wow! ....Wow! The aroma is remenicent fresh sweet lemons. This amazing brew pours a wonderful hazy golden color with a creamy light tan head that lasts till the fat lady sings. The head leaves a delicate beautiful lace. The flavor is (like the Commercial Description) a pleasant grassiness Iv’e never tasted in a beer before...WOW! It’s great! Some hop spiciness and citrus notes... balanced well with a little sweetness from the pale malts. Just the right bitterness.... and it lingers well. And oh so smooth. It is now officially my favorite pale ale. Oh it’s great. I wish this would never end. But it has to. Thank you Great Divide for Fresh Hop Plae Ale. The Lord bless the hop harvest.

bomber from premier gourmet. pours clear bright golden orange with a tight white head that lasts and laces. aromas are all about the hops. grassy, citrus, grapefruit. the flavours are similar with a long dry finish. i love the dryness in this one. it makes the difference from what would have been a mediocure brew. good stuff!!

This is one of my all time favorites. Deuced it up a couple years in a row. I’d say grapefruit and that sharp piney taste. I could drink about a thousand of these but I think that’s just me.

22 ounce bottle from Belmont Station--Poured a amber-golden hue with a medium whitish head. Nose of grapefruits pine and caramel. Sweet, sticky, oily body. Piquant floral, piny, citrus notes. Very earthy and gritty. Soft and pleasant. Still, I can’t spend what they’re asking when they are just shipping the hops in from Oregon and shipping them back. Drink local!

650 mL bottle. Amber-orange with a nice light beige head. Beautiful floral-pine aroma. The taste is slightly caramel sweet, with a pleasant amount of floral-citrusand with nice bitterness at the end. The body is nice, perhaps a little thin. It’s certainly not an IPA, but it’s a lovely APA.
