Commercial Description:
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Bottle, 1 pint. Thanks to Scheffel at OHBL meeting. The beer pours nice clear ambercolored, with an off-white head. The aroma is fresh and hoppy. The flavor is with lots of hops, notes of grass and grapefruit. The mouthfeel is balanced and the overall impression of the beer is above average to good.

Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Dry with a caramellike sweetness. Lots of hops, but not totally teeth-kicking. Slightly grassy with pinks grapefruit notes. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Long dry hoppy finish. Nice hops-profile.

Draft: pours a golden amber color with a frothy white head, aroma is hoppy with a little spice, flavor is all hops with a bitter finish, this is a good brew but it is also just another hop bomb. I much prefer the Victory Hop Wallop.

Nice, fairly clear deep copper caramel-like color, topped with a dense, foamy, lasting off-white head. Nose is just heaven, intense floral, grassy, citrusy hop aroma. Enough malty backbone to balance. Smooth and ever so slightly chewy mouthfeel with soft, moderate carbonation. Wonderful hop flavor – citrusy grapefruit. Nice bitter finish. Nicely done pale ale, wish I could drink this year round.

Pours a golden amber with a large white frothy head. Pleasant aroma dominated by hops. Very smooth drinking with a nice amount of hoppiness. A nice combination of a pale ale and an IPA.

Bottle. Pours amber with a frothy off white head. Aroma of pine, grass and spice rounded out with a little caramel. Taste is citrus hops and some grass. Medium body and a little bitter finish. I was expecting a little more from this, ws somewhat muted from what I thought. Still good though.

Amber pour with a fairly large off-white head. Clean pine aroma with grass. Bitter, resiny taste, but without the stickiness. Malt, orange peel, vanilla, and oak all make up the background. A very refreshing APA.

Although it is an APA it is a weak representation of style. Hops are too weak and the taste is lacking in the amount of hops that I like. There is a bit of a nutty toffee like flavor but the body is weak and watery. Decent but nothing great.
