Commercial Description:
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Bomber served in a tulip. Copper in color with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of fresh hops. Shocking. Wet hop, grassy, green. Fresh fo sho. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body. Bitter finish. Hoppy all-around. Great for a pale ale.

Color is a bright but hazy yellow-orange. Lots of carbonation. Finger of ice cream float head. A few layers of frosty, thick lace. Looks bright and awful inviting. The aroma is equally giving off a smell of bitter alpha hops, as well as some dry pale malt. The aroma hangs above the glass. Slight citrus aroma, but more of a bitter pine. Sweet malt is the initial taste, but it also has a lasting hop bitterness. As it warms, it mellows out. The hops are still bitter, but sting less. All the trappings of a nice -- strong but not extreme -- Imperial IPA. Much more than just a pale. The feel is thick and creamy. It leaps off the tongue with mild carbonation. Overall it’s a nice, well-balanced Imperial IPA. Quite good.

Wonderful aroma. Real clean and crisp. Slightly above average for a fresh hop beer

On draught at Redlight Redlight (Orlando, FL): Pours a clear copper. Nose is faint, but I can sense earthy hops, grass, and citrus. Typical IPA flavors with added honey and caramel. Mild carbonation and medium bodied. This ale is lacking that bitter punch in the finish that I’m expecting, or more so wanting. Drinkability: Smooth and enjoyable, but a little boring. Rebuy: Maybe. #187 on 07112009, DG.

Tap at bro tucks. Clear orange/amber pour. White head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel, and light honey. Flavor is loaded with grapefruit, light caramel, and light bready notes. Resinous on the finish.

Gift from Greg, thought this would be like sierra nevada’s harvest, but really nice use of the "wet" hops. kind of weak aftertaste, but a really nice APA.

Pours out clear copper with lots of creamy head. Taste is sweet and hoppy. Flavors of citrus, caramel, bread and pine. Crisp clean bitter finish. Great fresh hop ale. Good stuff!
