Commercial Description:
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Pours copper w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Good head retention reducing slowly to reveal a spotty canopy. Mild aromas of brisk citrus rind w/ a slight biscuiting. Medium full nectar w/ moderate carbonation producing an oily texture. A fat and malty sweetness balanced by blistering fresh squeezed citrus rind. This brew is strongly flavored front to back. A nice bit of biscuit comes through at mid palate. The finish is long and lingers w/ sweet asprin juice. A well made brew. Overall: Blistering hops and a bit on the sweet side. Rich and tastey. The high hop rate seems to dwindle as the brew warms. Highly recommended.

Amazing beer! Pours the same copper color with a nice thick fluffy head. Great aromas with a nice fresh, green, resin hop smell...very, very pleasing. The taste is just delicious, with that amazing fresh taste of hops...with the green aspect to it, a little grassy, full of hop resins, citrusy, and sweet. Even though I wish the IBU’s were 15-20 higher, it really works perfect with this lighter malty sweetness. It is hands down the best APA I’ve had to date. I love that fresh harvest element

Pours a clear filtered amber with a fluffy off white medium lasting head. Smell is fresh, green wet hop aroma, slighty gritty malt sweetness as well in the nose. Unique, and somewhat restrained aroma, but very nice. Taste is awesome on the first sip! Incredibly smooth body, mild perfect bitterness matching with the sweetness of the malt throughout the entire progression of the beer in the mouth. Perfect mouthfeel, and great lacing on the glass. Almost a tingly spiciness to the hops that give it a lightly almost herbal earthiness. Easily one of my new favorite beers. Up there with FFF Alpha King in terms of overall favorite American Pales. I tore through the bomber of this wanting much more. I wish it were less than $7 a bomber, but I’ll still be picking up another at that price.

Pour is golden with ample off-white head. Aroma and taste are grassy and hoppy. Bitter finish. Hops are nice, and the bitterness lingers. Good fresh APA.

bottle: pours an orange honey colour with a just off white head with some lacing. aroma of very earthy pine hops very nice and fresh. i still get a good caramel malt in the background though. that makes the aroma more complete. flavour is very full with a mice pine a nd earth hop bitterness, some sticky sweet malt lays between another helping of the pine hops that finishes with some bitterness. all and all very good and refreshing.

Had this beer on 1/13/2004. Aroma is light with nice hop tones. Color is a deep gold with good carbonation and a thin head. Taste hoppy and bitter. Starting with a light body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish comes in with a bright fresh hop flavor with just a hint of malt. This is followed by a smooth bitterness and leaves you with a floral hop flavor. Its a well rounded refreshing brew.
