Commercial Description:
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Drank on Jan 7, 2007. The aroma was medium to heavy hoppiness. The head was creamy and frothy and off white in color. The lacing was fair with the head mostly diminishing. The body was copper color. The initial flavor was light to medium bitter, with the finish the same the duration was average.

Bomber. Orange golden in color with a little off white head. Hoppy citrusy hops. Orange and grapefruit notes. Hoppy malty flavor. Piney, grassy notes. Medium bodied. Smooth tasting. Finish is slightly bitter. Nice beer.

Big white head. Orange/amber color. Subtle aroma of pine. Expected this one to be much more bitter and hoppy but the the malt balances the hops nicely. This one finishes with that bitter, metallic taste. Slightly sweet and caramel in the taste as well.

Bomber. Cloudy goldish orange with a large but short lived head. Aroma is piney hops but I expected that from a GD beer. I am guessing thsi bomber is not at it’s optimum condition but the hops havent faded much. Taste is hoppy alright with sour orange, lime and tangerine juice and rind. Starts smooth and nicely sweet with that nice hop juice dryness. This is a nicely hopped pale with (for me) uses the right type of hops.

A dark orange appearance. The aroma is caramel, oranges, and perfume. The flavor is somewhat bitter with lemons and oranges present. I think watching Cedric The Entertainer playing the role of Ralph Kramden really took my attention away from the beer. Overall its not the best APA but a good session ale.

hmm, alpha king? no, but it reminded me of it, and that doesn’t happen at all... / great, fresh aroma and flavor; not a lot of alcohol, but with a good amount of alcohol; nicely balanced, and smooth yet a bit prickly - there’s mostly a calm, grassy, with a bit of citrus and rind, hoppiness over a somewhat rich and buttery caramel flavor - makes a cool session.

It’s obvious that a lot of thought, hard work, and talent went in to developing this beautifully balanced APA. It has a good looking pour, a rich amber body with a tall but controlled off-white head. Nice lacing. Prominent in the aroma is the smell of pine after a a rain. Some grapefruit lies beneath through which the soft scent of caramel emerges. It’s medium bodied with light carbonation tickling the tongue. The flavor is nicely balanced, sweet malts with an evenly balanced piney bitterness that leaves the mouth feeling refreshed... which pretty much describes the finish. This is a quality sessionable ale. Very nice.
