Commercial Description:
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Clear amber. Lacy white head. Aroma is piney some sweet caramel. Flavor is ok but kind of dull when compared to some of the fresh hop ales that I have had. Medium bitter lightish palate.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours an amber color with a nice, quite big white head leaving some lacing. Aroma is citrus hoppy; there’s also grapefruit, grass, pineapple, tropical fruits and toffee. Flavour is lightly caramely sweet, there’s citrus, grass, grapefruit, toffee, cookies, and a slight hint of tropical fruit and resin. Bitter finish. Medium bodied. Texture is oily, carbonation is average. Nice, refreshing pale ale though not superb.

Bottle. Pours a clear, golden liquid with a fairly large, off-white head. Aroma is fresh and fruity with a nice hop character and a tiny malt sweetness. Taste is a bit sweet with some hop fruitiness and a rather sharp bitterness. Fresh and very drinkable.

Bottle. Fluid was amber with a very large and thick foam. An inviting and fresh aroma of hops, citrus, grass and fruits. The taste was quite bitter, grapefruit, toffee, grass and fruit. Dry and easy to drink. Good beer, but maybe not that exciting in the long run. Not a complex beer but refreshing.

Bottle: Pours amber with a large sandy head. Tons of sticky lacing. Thick aroma of citrus and grapefruit with light fruity sweetness. Really a delicious smell. Taste isn’t nearly as hoppy... comes out with light citrus, florals, and a bready maltiness. Cuts into the hop profile quite a bit. High hopes at first sniff, but ends up coming in right around average.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Nice glowing amber body with lasting, frothy head. Intense but inviting hoppy nose. Very hoppy taste with notes of wheat, orange, pine and citrus. More hops and hops in the finish. Slightly watery and spicier towards the end. Delectable!
