Commercial Description:
Brewing with fresh hops is a big endeavor, requiring four to five times the hop volume compared to using pelletized hops. Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

(Bottled) Clear golden-amber with a small head. Some citrusy hops and toffeeish malt in the aroma - not very fresh, it seems. Moderately malty flavor with some diacetyl-like hints, piney hops, and strawberries. Medium body, smooth carbonation. This could be very nice on draught, but at over 6 months, this was not at its best.

Pours slightly hazy light amber with foamy beige head. Aroma is grassy hops with citrus and pine poking through as well. Flavor is incredible well hopped and well balanced. Hop character is citrus and pine with some resinous aspects as well. Palate is sticky and resinous subsiding into a dry, hoppy finish. A tad thin on the palate, but quite good for the style. Complexity of hop character is unmatched by any other APA i’ve had- this one is definitely a winner.

22oz. bomber at Table Rock. Bought last two bottles in store on sale, so they were a little old I’ll re-rate this fall. Slightly hazy amber copper color with thin off white head that left good lacing. Freshly opened bag of hops aroma. Light flavor of green and citrus hop with light balancing malt inthe background. Light body, soft carb., and dry texture and feel. A really good beer with rough edges that would probably be better in season.

(Bottle) Pours an amber colour with an off-white head. The aroma is mild hoppy and toasted malty with tones of flowers, mild pine, tea, apricot and light caramel. The flavour is medium hoppy and light to medium malty with tones of tea, flowers, mild pine some toast and caramel. Citric bitter with a medium resiny afterbitternesss. The mouthfeel is smooth and dry. Medium bodied.

Upon opening, the aroma is full of citrusey hops. Pours amber with some white head. Fairly carbonated. First notes to hit your tongue are a refreshing citrus flavor followed by a nice, balanced bitterness. Very dry and refreshing.

Amber w&/ small pale head. Caramel malty nose, citric fruity hops. Same goes for flavor, with little pine on the side. Nicely bitter finish. Medium bodied, smoothly carbonated palate. I guess it’d be better, like the name says, fresh.
