TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jan 23, 2009 Bottle shared by emacgee. Thanks Ethan. Sweet, easy drinking belgian here. No major complaints fro me, I actually enjoyed this much more than the first time I had it when it first came out. Easy drinking and unoffensive. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jan 23, 2009 Thanks hophead75 for the bonus. Pours a translucent clean pale gold with a thin fizzy white. The aroma was sweet, mild Belgian feel, lightly earthy, some spice and funk. The flavor is spicy, earthy, some candy, mild waxy bite, warming, Belgian yeasty character. Palate shows some astringency. Pretty decent. WabashMan (798), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Jan 21, 2009 Pours a medium gold with a nice but short lived white head and lots of visible carbonation. Nose is nice....a bit more like a White, to be honest, with a good yeasty, malt character. Flavor is full but short with nice notes from the yeast and spices. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jan 20, 2009 Lemony, sweaty, musty wheat aroma. Absolutely clear, bright yellow, fair label. Metallic, hoppy, lemon jello sweetness and tanginess. It’s obviously going for crispness, but it kind of slides out of the saddle. Long astringent finish. Medium light body. Obviously an American Belgian - not in the good Ommegang/Allagash way, but in the bad wannabe, pandering micro brew sort of way. Fair to sub-standard. mrant (330), New York, USA Jan 19, 2009 Smells of bitter hops and pungent yeast. Taste is mild yeast with a nice almost cherry-like sweetness. Very tasty, unusual cherry flavor is very nice. leitrim65 (398), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 17, 2009 Pours a cloudy, golden color. The aroma is mild and disappointing, maybe a hint of sweet malt doughyness, along with a trace of spice, but it took a lot of work to reach that determination. This is a flavorful beer compared to the aroma, however its still fall short of most classic Belgian ales. Somewhat yeasty and sweet, with gentle carbonation, and spice, accented in the finish by a touch of hops in the finish. Overall a good quality beer. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jan 15, 2009 Bottle from Party Town.
Poured a clear pale color with a large frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing.
Moderate sour citrus, yeast and spice aroma.
Medium body with lively carbonation.
Medium biitersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Good drinkable brew.
KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA Jan 15, 2009 Clear yellow pour with a small head. Spice on the nose (coriander). Light bodied. The flavor is about the same as the aroma. Mild spices in the flavor and a touch of sweetness.
