Commercial Description:
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

Nov 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear, pale golden with a thin white head, some lacing. Smells of hay and fruit, perhaps fig. Sweet, malty, crisp and unassuming, well-balanced and drinkable. Velvety, medium body.

Bottle: pours a golden color with small head. Most notable in the aroma is Belgian yeast. Taste consists of a combination of sweet and dry. This is ridiculously drinkable and a good representation of the style.

Pour is a bright gold with a small white head. Aroma is some citrus fruit with Belgian yeastness. Flavor is malty at first then comes some bitter fruit and finishes with some yeast and a touch of alcohol. I guess Hades is supposed to be a Duvel clone. It doesn’t quite match up but its good enough to try.

Pale golden straw color with a champagne like bubbly white head that thins quickly. Spicy musty aroma, pale malts and grassiness. Taste is dry herbal hops, hay, grass, a nice Belgian pale.

Bottle... Poured clear orange with a white head. Aroma seemed a little off, like sulfur water and hard candy. Smooth palate with some zesty citrus notes, cloves and mild bitter hops. A little alcohol was noticeable in the finish. I thought this was under par for a Belgian Ale.

Clear golden color and pours a thick white head but that fades to a thin layer. The aroma is yeasty, quite malty, with faint traces of spice and fruits. The flavor here is alright but I admit it’s a little strange. Malty, some hops too but I’ll say it’s more malty tasting, sweet, and a blend of yeast, banana, and spice. The beer finishes very sour. Again, it’s alright but something seems off with this beer. After hearing someone talk very positively about this I am a little disappointed.

Pale blond, moderate haze, sparse white head. Lemon aroma initially, then comes wood and dust in gentle doses. Intense initial punch of dry alder wood, bitter lemon peel and raw hop pellets. finishes sweet with the lemon and the raw hops lingering both on different sides of my mouth. Probably better with food.
