Commercial Description:
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

Nice flavor from the yeast strain. Gives it a nice spicy/fruity flavor. Highly crisp finish....subtle hop presence throughout. Not the best american interpretation of a Belgian...but drinkable.

Draft. the best comparison would be a belgian tripel blended with some tasteless international macro lager. Strange finish.

Golden body with a spritzy head that leaves a firm white cap once it finally settles in place. The nose is firm and forward, with a nice mix of Belgiany esthers, including pear, apple, cinnamon and spice. A nice layering of caramel and honey malts balance the body with the continued push of spicy yeast. Finishes crisp and dry, very saison-like. I really enjoyed the yeast in this one.

Bottled (bought from Ölkonsortiet, Aalborg). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is hops, glue, grass and some slight notes of yeast. Flavour is hops, slight pumpkin, grass, grains and glue. Something like a clash between Belgian Ale and American Pale Ale.

Bottle. Pale yellow body with a small white head. Aroma similar to a wit beer, but sweeter. Spice, grain, light hop. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Light to medium body with a watery texture. Not very well put together.

Nov 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear, pale golden with a thin white head, some lacing. Smells of hay and fruit, perhaps fig. Sweet, malty, crisp and unassuming, well-balanced and drinkable. Velvety, medium body.

Bottle: pours a golden color with small head. Most notable in the aroma is Belgian yeast. Taste consists of a combination of sweet and dry. This is ridiculously drinkable and a good representation of the style.

Pour is a bright gold with a small white head. Aroma is some citrus fruit with Belgian yeastness. Flavor is malty at first then comes some bitter fruit and finishes with some yeast and a touch of alcohol. I guess Hades is supposed to be a Duvel clone. It doesn’t quite match up but its good enough to try.
