Commercial Description:
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a moderate white head that lasted until mid-glass but left no lace. Pleasant aroma of sweetgrass, yeast and malt. The flavor is yeasty with some spice and malt with a bit of sugary sweetness. Slightly funky as well. Lightly bitter at the finish.

Pale straw body with some haze. The head is bright white. The aroma is sweet with pears, cinnamon and some Super Glue. The taste is more of that glue character with some cinnamon spice. The finish is old sweat socks and aluminum. There is also an odd note of wax. While, the start of each drink begins promising with some pears, it fades to those other off flavors very quickly. Strangely made, I am not sure what Great Divide hoped to accomplish with this one. A sweet Belgian ale with some spicing, maybe a super pumped Belgian Wit? I am not sure as it is mostly a confusing mess with hints of sweetness and funk. It’s like you mixed a bad Belgian Golden style ale with a poorly made wit. It’s not terrible, but it seems like they didn’t know what they wanted.

A pretty tasty belgian golden strong. Flavor profiles not very deep, but very tasty nonetheless. I’d have more ...17

It has a beautiful sunny blond color, with a generous head and a persistent perlage. The aroma is lightly malty, Belgian. It has a medium sweet body, with malt and some spices (coriander), and the touch of a Belgian yeast; a dry malt line leads to the final, that is well bitter, bitterness being on the top edge for such beer. No thrills, ok, but it’s a very good and straightforward Belgian Ale. Purist.
