Commercial Description:
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

Very, very, VERY light color -- lighter than straw. Fizzy belgian carbonation, though not particularly dense. Flavor is full, but light -- very fruity, very belgan. Lots of estery flavors; bubblegum and banana, but well balanced. Quite drinkable, if this were a style I enjoyed. I could see this going down well with seafood or light cheese.

Bready belgian aroma. Body is a bit thin and not very complex. Some spicy yeast, some wheatiness.

Bottled. Golden coloured. A small off white head, which dissapears quickly. A bit unclear. Sweet, yeasty and fruity (Banana and slight apple). Alcohol, light banana and some loads of yeast. But the alcohol is a bit too dominant for my likings. Medium bodied. Quite dry and acidic. Ends on a yeasty and fruity note. Is a bit bland, but can stand up to a lot of "orignal" belgian ales. Nice and refreshing.

Perhaps the least aptly named beer ever; pours an almost translucent gold with wispy retained head. Nose of hibiscus, warm pita, honey; somewhat thin on the palate, strong golden raisin taste with straw hops and an almost astringent hop finish and strong alcohol presence considering the ABV. Americans really ought to leave tripels to the Belgians.

22oz bottle-Slightly hazy golden body with no head and a slight aroma of yeast. Taste of sweetness, yeast, alcohol, and a dry finish. Not the best but not the worst.

Bomber. Gold pour, disappointingly clear, with a minimal head. Bready and floral aroma with banana and pear. Generally sweet bubblegum flavor cut with some moderate spiciness. Medium bodied with not a whole lot of carbonation. Some hop bitterness at the very back of the finish. Some citrus zestiness appears now and then. Clearly not the best Belgian styled ale around but drinkable nonetheless. Probably better if it were washing down moules as the label suggests.

Bottle. Golden, white head. Yeasty, sweet aroma with a little citrus. Sweet flavour with traces of yeast and a nice freshness. Slighly bitter and with a little alcohol going out. Passable, but it didn’t do much for me.

Pours a very pale, slightly hazy yellow body. Small, fizzy white head that settles quickly to a patchy film with a solid, bubbly edge. Aroma is lightly floral and spicy, with fresh wildflowers, dandelions, lemon chiffon, and coriander. The flavor follows along those same lines. Flowers of seemingly every variety are present. The coriander adds a nice spiciness, but its not overpowering as some Belgians tend to be. Cream and sweetened lemon add much welcomed smoothness. Medium bodied, light, crisp and refreshing. Not fantastic, but I enjoyed this one.
