Braudog (3732), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 2, 2009 Bottle. Bright golden and clear. Little head. The aroma is vaguely banana-laced. Drinks with a exceptionally smooth mouthfeel. Very drinkable, easy-going Belgian-style. (#3628, 8/2/2009) holdenn (1424), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 2, 2009 12oz bottle pours clear golden color with a thin white head. Belgian yeasts in the aroma touch of dough, pepper, spice, banana and pale malts. Similar flavors: fruity with peppery spices and mildly sweet doughy malt finish. Middle of the road, nothing glaringly wrong, nothing that special either. Throw some more hops in here and this would be better fo sho. Airlifter (116), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Aug 1, 2009 Pours a clear golden yellow with nice amount of almost white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a hint of banana. Flavor is sweet and just a little spicy. Some earthiness in the finish but overall a bit watery. Not bad. crajun (89), , Texas, USA Jul 28, 2009 strawish color; white head
The finish is what makes this beer
very crisp hoppy finish; clean
light sweet malt in beginning.
will drink more jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Jul 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours a bright orange body with one or two fingers of white head. The aroma is belgian spices and yeast as well as hops. The flavor contains the same components. jmm635 (249), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2009 Crystal clear straw colored pour with a frothy white head. Really strong yeasty aroma with a touch of lemons and spice. Pale malt, yeasty taste up front followed by a sweeter malt finish. dkachur (2313), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Grape & Gourmet in Virginia Beach, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Fruity aroma with notes of bubblegum, ripe and unripe banana, spice, apple, caramel and bread. Taste is caramel and pepper along with other spices, light herbal notes and light apple/pear like fruit notes. Medium bodied and a bit sticky in texture. Fairly strong carbonation. punkrkr27 (606), Berkley, Michigan, USA Jul 21, 2009 Pale gold pour with a loose, 2-finger, white head that fades to a thin ring. Spicy and peppery phenol aroma with notes of lemon bread, clove, yeast, candi sugar, and bubblegum. Citrus and biscuit hit your tongue first followed by some banana and clove esters and finishing with some peppery phenols. Dry, slightly sticky body with a crisp finish but a bit on the thin side. Pretty middle of the road Belgian golden but makes for a pretty nice summer beer to go with lighter grilled chicken. I had it with some Hawaiian chicken kabobs and it paired pretty nicely.
