Pours a clear golden color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Fruity aroma with notes of bubblegum, ripe and unripe banana, spice, apple, caramel and bread. Taste is caramel and pepper along with other spices, light herbal notes and light apple/pear like fruit notes. Medium bodied and a bit sticky in texture. Fairly strong carbonation. punkrkr27 (616), Berkley, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Pale gold pour with a loose, 2-finger, white head that fades to a thin ring. Spicy and peppery phenol aroma with notes of lemon bread, clove, yeast, candi sugar, and bubblegum. Citrus and biscuit hit your tongue first followed by some banana and clove esters and finishing with some peppery phenols. Dry, slightly sticky body with a crisp finish but a bit on the thin side. Pretty middle of the road Belgian golden but makes for a pretty nice summer beer to go with lighter grilled chicken. I had it with some Hawaiian chicken kabobs and it paired pretty nicely. bconger (75), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Bottle. Golden pour with a medium, foamy white head with good lacing. Aromas of lemon and grass (but not lemongrass). Also characteristically yeasty. Fruity and crisp on the tongue. malrubius (981), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2009 12 ounce bottle in pint tulip. Very pale almost champagne color with ring head (not sure why I didn’t get the head others got). Yeasty sugary aroma with mild white wine and hop spice. Sugary white wine fruitiness with mild finishing spicy dry bitterness. Decent mouthfeel with nice fine internal carbo. Pretty decent for hit or miss style. Drinkable, but not exactly Duvel. troopie (867), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Bottle. Poured pale gold with a lasting white head. Full fruity aroma with a bit of citrus. Medium flavour with a crisp edge. And after all this, a bit of metal in the hoppy finish brought it down.
