Commercial Description:
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

In the bomber bottle from Total Beverage. Pours dark gold with a large thick and creamy white head. Fruity aroma. Flavor is like Juicy Fruit Gum with a candy lemon drop (but not citrus). A fairly boring beer otherwise.

Bottled. Clear pale golden with a fluffy white foam. Clean and sweet aroma of corn, pale malts, bread, mild lemon and alcohol. Sweet flavour of banana, yeast, canned corn, canned oranges and alcohol. Hot finish of banana and boiled vegetables.

Bottle. Golden beer with a whitish head. Sweet, biscuity, spicy aroma. Spicy, malty (slightly bready), yeasty flavor. Spice lingers with a faint sweetness and mineral tones. Medium body. Nice. Good spice characteristics.

Definitely a success from Great Divide. Lots of Belgian yeast in the aroma and flavor. Lightly sweet with some candy sugar, but mild on the palate and as the description says, it would pair well with virtually anything.

Bottled. Aroma has citrus, some grain. Clear, golden coloured beer with a white head. The taste is sweet, slightly bitter, has citrus. Boring.

Bottle: Pale straw, quite translucent, moderate to thin sudsy white head, spotty lacing, very light carbonation.   Somewhat floral nose, sweet biscuits, sweetened straw.   Interesting beer so far.   Sweet, somewhat syrupy, grassy flavor up front.   Comes across as being a bit dry, with very minor floral notes.   Pale breadiness, this is like a lighter Tripel.   Moderate to full body, mouthfeel is average.   Like most American made Tripels, bready moreso than floral.   This one might be a bit more floral, but it remains to be like a lighter example of a Belgian Tripel.   Tiz okay, but will certainly get lost in the sea of good beer.

In short: A sugary Belgian blonde ale with an aggressive salty/mineral character. Bad.
How: Bottle, consumed a few months after purchase
The look: Partly cloudy blonde body topped by a very small white head
In long: Nose is yeasty and with a strange mix of phenols, plastic and dry grass. Taste is beyond bland, this is aggressively bland. Lots of minerals, dusty yeast, sugary sweetness, some dried fruits, salty notes, some other spices. I thought there was something wrong with my bottle but seeing that this is one of the lowest rated Great Divide I think that maybe that’s what it is supposed to taste. Wouash. And they say that this is made with a rare Belgian yeast strain. Rare as in “nobody wants to use it”.

Bottle. Golden colour, small head. Potent grassy and fruity hop nose. Good fruity hoppiness. A solid Belgian-style blond ale.
