Undoubtedly one of the better tasting belgian ales I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. Very light color, lighter than the ubiquitous pale yellow american lager, almost looks like weak lemonade. Very thin creamy head. Very mild aroma like a good trippel. Rather smooth on the palate but not quite as smooth or refined as belgy trippels. Decent carbonation and pretty clean and refreshing for a high alky brew. Hides it’s alky content well. Not heavy nor syrupy. A little perfumy in flavor and aroma. Finish is quite mild. Spicy aroma with bread, lemon, yeast and noble hops behind it. Medium-light body with medium carbonation. Taste is lightly sweet, but without much substance: a bit of bread and fruit. Semi dry spicy finish with a bit of with a hoppy bitterness on the tail end. Not hellish, but not quite "one hell of a beer" either. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 9, 2007 22oz. bottle. Fruity, mildly sweet aroma, some honeyed golden apple, pear and floral notes, combined with a lightly dusty, doughy and earthy yeast character. Clear light golden in color with a lasting, bubbly head. Flavor is comprised of some pale malt sweetness up front, followed by a blend of spicy, peppery bitterness, herbal hop flavor and some mild bubblegum and melon easters, finishing up with a drying acidity, some lemon citrus and a faintly alcoholic presence. Mouthfeel is clean, soft and effervescent, with a medium-full body. Held my interest. Angeloregon (2036), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Poured a golden clear body with a miniscule white and wispy head. Bright, fruity and yeasty nose. Notes of banana, liquorish, and candied oranges. Well-balanced aside from a strong PNW hop presence. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Slightly cloudy yellow pour. Light malt nose almost like the smell of a hot bowl of fresh white rice. Taste is rice-y, wheaty, and moderatley spiced in the style of a wit-bier. A bit sweet overall. Interesting beer, but not a favorite of mine. sebletitje (1997), Tampa, Florida, USA

Aroma is yeasty with citrus nose.
Taste is yeasty, fruty (apricot), malty, some sweet caramel. Light hop bitterness with spices in the finish.
An average ale, alcohol is well present. beerbill (1977), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a moderate white head that lasted until mid-glass but left no lace. Pleasant aroma of sweetgrass, yeast and malt. The flavor is yeasty with some spice and malt with a bit of sugary sweetness. Slightly funky as well. Lightly bitter at the finish. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 13, 2008 22 oz bottle from Beerworld of Largo. Hazy blonde in color with a medium sized off white head that retains well and leaves some nice belgian lacing on the glass. Aroma: very nice with alot of musty basement and light notes of bread, lemon zest, spices, spicy hops and fresh pale malt. Taste is a bit weird however, starts off nice with a light honey sweetness, pale malt, and then becomes quite harsh across the palate- overly bitter grassy hops, a bit acidic, watery, bland and muddled. bone dry. Not good but this appears to be the first attempt at a belgian for them- I am sure GD will dial this one soon as they are a quality brewery.
