Commercial Description:
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

22oz bomber from Sam’s, Durham. A very crisp-looking golden, with a big fluffy head on the initial pour. It dissipates quickly but there’s lively carbonation nonetheless. The beer’s a decent Belgian-style summer ale, coming off initially as far to dry and bready but yielding a moderately pleasing spiciness and citrus hops as it goes on. Not bad.

Tasted 9/1/07. 22oz bomber. Clear with a golden hue. Moldy white head. Citrus and bready aromas. The yeast adds a banana aroma. Medium bodied with a big yeast note and citrus effervescence. Bitter with a moderate burn. Honeyish. Sweet and bitter dichotomy. Spicy and peppery. Gets better as it warms, but only to a degree. It still needs a slight chill. Borderline.

0,66 l bottle - shared with Asgeir and Sølve. Clear golden color, fine white head. Aroma has fine floral hops and fruit. Flavor is a fine mixture of belgian style ale and american hops. The hops are in front, then there is yeast, malt and spices. Sweet and dry finish.

Pours out a bright yellow color with a white head on it. Smell is fruity, full of bananas and lemons. Some malt sweetness and perhaps a little bit of hops. Not much alcohol is detected. Pretty bad at cold temps, but as it warmed it became much more interesting and drinkable. I think the lower rating is due to people drinking this one too cold. Let it warm up and its good!

Hazy and blond with nice sized lasting head. Aroma is spicy and yeasty with a touch of candy sugar. Sweet upfront before thinning as it finishes. Malts are not overly deep to keep this one thick.

Pale golden straw color with a champagne like bubbly white head that thins quickly. Spicy musty aroma, pale malts and grassiness. Taste is dry herbal hops, hay, grass, a nice Belgian pale.

Bottle. Light spicy aroma with notes of hops and the Belgian yeast.Plain flavor with a sweet body. Notes of yeast, grape and a light spicy note. Finishes with a dry palate with notes of hops and citrus. Very light alcohol warmth completes the pattern.
