Commercial Description:
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

Funny. All the beers I drink that use Hell, Demons and the Netherworld as a thematic motif tend to be brutally dark beers. Hades Ale? Not so much. It’s colored like white grape juice, with a diminutive head that’s quick to retreat. Same with the aroma - white grape juice, apple juice, soapy cleanliness, wheat, and a little grapefruit. From here the flavor gets a little more intensely bitter and a little more sweet, with an additional touch of kettle corn, caramel, a squeeze of mango, and a good, healthy dose of alcohol. The flavors are on the weaker side, but still a nice medley - like a low grade Duvel.

Bottle. Golden, white head. Yeasty, sweet aroma with a little citrus. Sweet flavour with traces of yeast and a nice freshness. Slighly bitter and with a little alcohol going out. Passable, but it didn’t do much for me.

Bomber. Pale yellow, semi-hazy with a soapy white head. Nose of bananas, spice, and lemons. Slightly spicy, citrus flavors with a little Wonder Bread thrown in. A touch of alcoholic burn, but really a very clean drinking beer. Not much flavor, not much scent, but easy to drink and very refreshing. This would be a good summer beer, though maybe not worth the price.

Bottle pours a bit cloudy, with a golden yellow color and a thin white head. Typical Belgian strong ale aroma of yeast and spices. Nice flavor with a good amount of hop bitterness in the dry finish. Highly carbonated mouthfeel.

TAP: clear light yellow pour with a small soapy white head. Coriander and acicidity on the nose, taste is sweet hops.

Golden color. Spice in nose and very phenolic. The malt flavor is pretty mellow and the spicyness dominates.

Pale color. Smells mostly of wheat and yeast. Tastes the same. Has a bitter ending. Not my type of beer.
