Dry with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Perfumy and very hoppy with lingering bitter finish. Very American style, and quite good at that. jsquire (2121), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

Soft cotton candy and citrus perfume nose rides soft peppery herbal tones. Hints of yeast at room temp. Lightly spiced candy flavors round to a soft earthy hop note. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, soft bittersweet finish. Drinkable, but definitely not GD’s best effort... thegreenrooster (1842), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 17, 2008 Pour is a bright gold with a small white head. Aroma is some citrus fruit with Belgian yeastness. Flavor is malty at first then comes some bitter fruit and finishes with some yeast and a touch of alcohol. I guess Hades is supposed to be a Duvel clone. It doesn’t quite match up but its good enough to try. zach8270 (2131), Henrietta, New York, USA

Fruity, mildly sweet aroma, some honeyed golden apple, pear and floral notes, combined with a lightly dusty, doughy and earthy yeast character. Clear light golden in color with a lasting, bubbly head. Flavor is comprised of some pale malt sweetness up front, followed by a blend of spicy, peppery bitterness, herbal hop flavor and some mild bubblegum and melon easters, finishing up with a drying acidity, some lemon citrus and a faintly alcoholic presence. Mouthfeel is clean, soft and effervescent, with a medium-full body. Held my interest. jbrus (4895), Delft, Netherlands

Yeast and candi sugar are two examples. It was also malty. Interestingly, there was an unexpected hop bitterness that offset some of that sweetness.
