Aroma of lightlt sweet, toasty pale biscuity malt with some floral noble hop notes and an authentic Belgian yeastiness. Body starts fairly full and toffee sweet with an earthy grassy bittering hop presence and some doughy yeasty notes before a drier, biscuity finish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Clear, very pale golden pour, with a fizzy, short-lived head - light belgian yeastiness in the aroma, with some banana, floral notes, and a hint of spice - light flavor, tingly in the mouth - light honey sweetness, quite a strong floral character, some herbal notes, and a touch of lemon - a medium hop bite combines well with a moderate spicy character near the end - quite a nice, mellow belgian ale, which is a surprise coming from a brewery that seems to specialize in big beers. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2008 Bottle. Body-very light yellow lager/pilsner looking with a foamy pearly white thick head. Nose-Belgian, light clove, medium phenols, light white spice. Taste-sawdust, unsweet berry, sharp, very light soap, white pepper, white grapes, medium to high CO2, alcohol bun, light orange pith, very distinctive Belgian yeast flavors, straw, clay/earth, medicinal on the backend, soft. Not bad. A good example of a “light” Belgian beer. A good choice of Belgian ingredients.
