| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2007 Pours a clear yellow color with a medium sized white head. Fairly dense that head. Aroma is full of apple juice. Sweet, simple, malt forward beer with a rich apple and plum flavor and a faint bitterness at the finish. I split this bomber with a hop-hating lager head and they thought this was fantastic. I think it’s enjoyable on a hot day when you need something a little stronger. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Appearance: Pours a clear, sparkling light yellow body with a white, creamy head.
Smell: A sweet-smelling grainy nose with hints of yeast, pineapple, banana, and perfumy hops.
Taste: Again, sweetish and grainy, but with a pronounced, sweet lemony flavor and lesser notes of yeast and banana. Light, spicy hops lend a bit of bitterness to the lightly acidic, semi-sweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: I will say that when faced with the task of soothing my harried nerves after navigating my way through Atlanta traffic, the Great Divide Hades did a bang up job. waolsen (1223), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Bottled in June of this year. Pours with a sparkling golden color and a brilliant white, creamy-pillowy, average head; a decent amount sticks around and is very persistant leaving no lace. Nose is simple but pleasant; notes of grain, yeast, banana esters, honey, and lightly peppery spices with a bit of perfumey notes. Flavor is much spicier and more tilted towards the hops than I would have thought; pepper is noticable quickly with dominance almost followed by honey, light esters, light yeast, and a hint of fruits (pear maybe). Hop flavors filter in and dry out with more spice, hay, and an herbal note (I saw lavender in some notes) leaving the malt notes to disappear and a moderately high bitterness to take over. Palate is less than medium, somewhat creamy, and lively. Finishes mostly bitter with pepper spices bringing some warmth and dryness, yeast, and the lavender note. Somewhat like a strong golden Belgian but with more hops and plenty of spice. Pepper spicing and noticable hops create a good bitterness but malt complexity is lacking as well as fruit notes. Interesting American version of this Duvel-type. Naven (876), Poway, California, USA
