Commercial Description:
Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

THOUGHTS: Decent, but nothing special. It hid the alcohol well. Belgian, yet a little British too. Too yeast heavy for me though. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a slightly cloudy, medium to dark golden with a very small head that was too small to tell what color it was. It mostly diminished. The aroma was light to moderate hops, moderate yeast, honey, alcohol, and spices. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and acidic; while the finish was sweet, acidic, slightly sour and slightly bitter with a bit of a short duration. There was candy sugar, spices, yeast, apple, and metallic, earthy hops. The light to medium body was fairly dry with fizzy carbonation and a dry, lightly astringent and lightly alcoholic finish.

Bottle. Cardemom, anis and orange in the aroma. Sweetish flavor with orange and various spices (cardemom, coreander, anis). Also spices in the finish. Sticky mouthfeel. Just a touch of alcohol.

Bottled. Aroma has citrus, some grain. Clear, golden coloured beer with a white head. The taste is sweet, slightly bitter, has citrus. Boring.

Bought this for the wife to drink after I sampled. We both thought this was a Duvel LIGHT, and thats not in a good way.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color is a light yellow with two fingers of white head. Some nice lacing as well. The smell is pretty peppery with some a hint as honey and a sweet sugary flavor. The taste is a bit citrus with some pear, banana and other fruit flavors. Some spices mixed into this beer like clove. The feel of this beer light and pretty easy going down. Is easy on the pallet and is refreshing with is spicy, crisp flavor.

This is interesting. Kind of like a tripel, but still very different. Very light, slightly hazy gold with a light head; aromas of of hops and spice give way to a fruity aroma as it warms - almost exactly like a sweet white wine. Has very prominent grain flavors with a crisp hop bite; light and very refreshing. Good lawnmower ale; not very complex, but pleasant.

Hazy yellow color with a big white head like beaten egg whites. Light spicey nose. Bitter orange peel and spice flavors, with some earthy yeast notes. Light and crisp, but not very complex.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Nice golden body. Sweet, fruity and hoppy nose. Strong taste of honey. Some spicyness too. Taste of malts and toffee, with more honey in the end. Pretty good.
