Commercial Description:
Hoppier, maltier and with more alcohol than a standard IPA, Hercules Double IPA definitely is not for the faint of heart. Hercules Double IPA is, however, an elixir fit for the gods. A brash but creamy wonder, Hercules pours a deep orange-coppery color, forming substantial lace in the glass. Hercules Double IPA delivers a huge amount of piney, floral, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor from start to finish. A hefty backbone of nutty, toffee-like malt character balances Hercules' aggressive, punchy hop profile. 85 International Bittering Units (IBUs).

Bottle. Pours a dirty orange, with a considerable head, though this bottle isnt real cold.. Strong nose of citrus, some pine and grapefruit. Flavor is a bit disappointing compared to the nose...I expected more. That said, this is still a very good beer. Malt mixes well with the hop/pine/citrus flavor. Alcohol stays where it should...hidden. A little thick in the mouthfeel, but regardless pretty good.

22oz bottle. Clear amber with an off white sticky head that leaves a big lace. Resinous citrus hop aroma with caramel and a slight bit of alcohol. Big flavor starts sweet and a smooth bitterness kicks in and leaves a long bitter finish. Heavy medium body with a syrupy mouth feel and a mellow carbonation. This is a big IIPA that goes down smooth and manages to hide the alcohol well. My bottle said 10% ABV.

Draft at the BrickStore. Hazy orange appearance, foamy two-finger head. Big hop aroma, with pineapple, citrus, grapefruit, some hay/grass undertones. Flavor was interestingly not as citrusy as the aroma, but was big on the pineapple, and had more of a grassy character than I would have guessed from the nose. Alcohol very well hidden, not a lot of lingering bitterness. Really nice IPA.

Pours clear orange/amber with a frothy tan head. Caramel, pine resin, and some nut aroma. Taste is roasty and nutty which gives great balance to the massive amount of bitter hops. Very thick and creamy, a truly excellent, well-rounded beer.

Amazingt beer! I would like to have it head to head with the stone ruination or dogfish 90 to compare. Pours amber, with small head. Lots of citrus and piney hops.

Dark clear amber pour with a light tan head. Thr hop aroma hits you right as you open the bottle. Hop flavor, malt, slight sweetness. Little spicy at the end. Alcohol is well hidden. The beer leaves a real tasty malt flavor-nioce, creamy, hoppy. Nice lacing on the glass. Darn good beer.

22 oz. bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop (botled December 23, 2008). Dark orange pour with a creamy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, and pine. Simply awesome aroma. Bitter grapefruit flavor with the right caramel sweetness to balance. Thick and rich body. This is killer. Hard for me to find much of anything to fault with this one. Easily one of the best DIPAs around.

The best do,uble IPA I have tried. It beats Dogfish 90 hands down. The hops last on your palet.
