bedainedebiere (274), Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada Apr 15, 2009 14,99$ for a 4-pack. Only at the third bottle have I really started to like this beer; it has been clouded by much better american beers to me, but it is still very enjoyable. Smells of sweetness and fruity hops. Orange-copper colored, with rather ugly whitish remains of yeast hanging in suspension. Ugliness is a pretty unimportant aspect of a quality of beer to me... Powerful tastes of hops, notes of fruits (grapefruit), pine, caramel-alike sweetness with a lot of depth and subtilities. Alchool is pretty hidden but comes out more obviously on certain sips... Long pleasant hoppy aftertaste. Well-balanced. Not watery but not that creamy either. All in all, a good one! terrybail (330), London, Ontario, Canada Apr 15, 2009 22 oz bottle from Ryans Party Store in Port Huron
Pours a hazy coppery orange with a medium sized long lasting off white head and good lacing
The aroma is not as pungent as some othe double ipa’s maybe a little too subdued citrus pine hops
The taste is also somewaht subdued for a double smooth and easy to drink
Biergeliebter (6), Kansas City, Missouri, USA does not count Apr 10, 2009 Pours with great color and thick full head. Aroma of citrus and hops. Taste is just what you would expect: hops and more hops. Great color, great aroma, great flavor, great beer. espenra (277), Oslo, Norway Apr 10, 2009 35,5cl bottle at Bar & Cigar. It poured an orange colour with a big white foamy head. Aroma is hoppy with notes of mango and grapefruit. The flavour is very bitter and malty with notes of hops and dark roasted coffee. It has a long, lingering aftertaste. nbutler11 (729), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Apr 10, 2009 On tap at Papago. Pours a rich amber color with a beige head. Pretty amazing. Features balanaced notes of salt, hops, cream, and flour. Has a faint amount of orange rind in the flavor. I have been told that the kegs are hit or miss, so I guess I was lucky and got a pint from a good one. TeamTrappist (363), jericho, New York, USA Apr 9, 2009 Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a dark amber. Not too much of an overpowering hop nose. This is not a fruity piny hop bomb. Possibly too malty, or overbalanced? Not my style of hop, but its ok, with a mild bitter finish. beerandIT (177), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 8, 2009 Oh how I miss this beer readily available where I live. Beautiful dark amber color. It is a bit off balanced with citrus and hops dominating but thats why I love this double ipa. A bit of malt and a ton and another ton of hops on the palate followed closely behind with hints of pine and citrus flavors all destroying your tongue. Nice and smooth drinking still for hop heads and people that just appreciate great beer. Also laces the glass all day long. As a nice amount of head that sticks around on the initial pour as well. Lets get this guy back in richmond, va! Kestral (191), Oslo, Norway Apr 7, 2009 Pours a clear, dark orange, small head. Aroma is surprisingly mild, floral and citrus hops, caramel malt, fruits. Flavour is also quite subdued compared to other DIPAs, but the hop bitterness lingers for a long time. Very nice and balanced, alcohol well hidden, refreshing and drinkable.
