Tons of lacing and decent retention. Aroma is of fresh-cut pineapple and rich caramel. Flavor is initially sweet with caramel, but then hops trample the palate, citrusy and grassy with a lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is just about all you can ask for in a double IPA: rich but not too sticky, no alcohol taste. Pretty drinkable for 9.1%

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 18, 2009 Big offwhite lasting head. Hazy amber body. Strong fruity raisiny caramel aroma with toffee and pepper notes. Harmonic and delicate. Intense resiny raisiny caramelly malts taste with roasty fruity alcohol notes. Harmonic and balanced. Smooth and rounded. Full-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel with considerable alcohol heat. Dry dusty roasty malty aftertaste with resiny notes. Excellent! Perfect balance, and easy to drink despite the strength. Fantastic malt character. (0.355l bottle, Olympen, Oslo.) morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2009 12 oz. single bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville, FL. Pours a hazy copper/orange color with a light head. Aroma is citrus, pine and a little malt. Taste is nice and rich and the alcohol is hidden very well within the beer. This stuff rocks - and it will sneak up on you. roborb (60), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2009 On draft and served in a snifter. Poured a hazy orange color with a short lived 1 finger head. There was great lacing from start to finish. Aroma consisted of pine, citrus and fruits with perhaps a pinch of malts. The taste followed the aroma nicely. It wasn’t as balanced as I would like an IPA to be as the malts never really controlled the hop profile. It leaves a dry aftertaste. This was a nice IIPA but clearly not one of the best. bedainedebiere (282), Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2009 14,99$ for a 4-pack. Only at the third bottle have I really started to like this beer; it has been clouded by much better american beers to me, but it is still very enjoyable. Smells of sweetness and fruity hops. Orange-copper colored, with rather ugly whitish remains of yeast hanging in suspension. Ugliness is a pretty unimportant aspect of a quality of beer to me... Powerful tastes of hops, notes of fruits (grapefruit), pine, caramel-alike sweetness with a lot of depth and subtilities. Alchool is pretty hidden but comes out more obviously on certain sips... Long pleasant hoppy aftertaste. Well-balanced. Not watery but not that creamy either. All in all, a good one! terrybail (334), London, Ontario, Canada

Pours a hazy coppery orange with a medium sized long lasting off white head and good lacing
The aroma is not as pungent as some othe double ipa’s maybe a little too subdued citrus pine hops
The taste is also somewaht subdued for a double smooth and easy to drink
