TampaBrew (726), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 24, 2009 Pours copper. Nose is loads of citrus and pine hops, sweet caramel, honey. Flavor is chewy resinous hops, sticky pine, sweet oranges and fresh grapefruit balanced out with toffee and caramel malt. Nice. twindog (69), Hampstead, Maryland, USA Oct 20, 2009 Pours a nice dark orange color, the head of the beer runs down the glass nice a slow. For a IPA there is not much of a citrus note on it. Theres more dark notes then anything. This beer makes me like hops even more , I can now label my self as a true hop head after drinking this one. Great beer people. Chrism86 (273), Melbourne, Australia Oct 20, 2009 Pours amber with a touch of orange and a nice creamy tan head - looks great! Nose has masses of malt, caramel, nuts & toffee with pine & citrus hop notes - basically your typical US IPA. Palate is quite malty with the toffee malt bringing a full palate. Relatively low carbonation. Hops kick in the mid palate & round out with medium bitterness on the finish. A bit of a malt bomb. Would like to see a touch more carb to dry it up a touch. Abv not at all evident, which is a plus. Probably a totally different beer with a fresh sample, enjoyable all the same. BeerChaser0078 (283), Melbourne, Australia Oct 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark clear amber with a short off-white head that dissipates to surface cover fairly quickly. Aroma is very hoppy and malty and fantastic: notes of toffee, hazelnut, burnt sugar, raisins, citrus, sultanas and pine. Flavour is essentially very similar but has stronger woody and nutty characteristics while keeping the sweetness to a minimum. Mouthfeel is smooth and slightly tingly with a long lasting bitter / sweet finish. Seriously good beer. paytoplay (121), , California, USA Oct 7, 2009 a touch sweet and sticky. thick and heavy. alc doesn’t seem out of the ordinary. maybe not the freshest example. just not the west coast style iipa i’m use to and like. cool to try. tilldeath (72), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 5, 2009 While I like most aspect of this beer from the orange amber pour and off white head, to the crisp floral hop aroma, I did feel this beer fell short for me in one aspect. I thought the beer was a little to hot for only being 9% abv. I felt like it should have been a little lighter, but don’t let it through you off this is a great beer, I just prefer Titan IPA rather than the double. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Oct 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange/red body with one finger of foamy white head. Beautiful hop aroma (pine and citrus). Flavor is awesome citrus hops, sweet candy notes. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 4, 2009 Pours a brilliant orange with a thin off-white head with nice lacing. Barbecue chicken aroma - sweet and spicy and quite potent! Nice spicy flavour - much more hop flavour than malt, but by no means unbalanced, though I could have aged this a year, easily. Decent carbonation, lightly creamy body. Tasty, but certainly not a favourite.
