| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 31, 2009 A surprisingly dark orange pour, with a dense (though fairly thin) white head. This one has a powerful aroma! Packed with citrus hops - lemon zest and mandarin orange, with a grassy undertone. Big, bold earthy hops dominate the flavor, with a good sweet backbone to counter. This one has a great balance. Nice and thick, but still lively - definitely up toward the top of the list of DIPAs I’ve had. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 29, 2009 (Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity nose with grapefruit, orange peel, pine needles, caramel and dried apricots. Huge hop aromas. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, pine needles, resin and dried apricots. The hop flavours are backed up by a solid malt structure with caramel, nuts and a touch of ryvita. More than medium body. Fairly sweet with a puff of alcohol towards the end. Seriously bitter finish. So beautiful and so brutal. Lovely beer!
